Sneak Peek Here!

Identical twin sisters who couldn't look more alike...or live more differently.

Harper Frost is laid-back, easygoing. She doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. She likes a beer and a shot and wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything fashionable. She's inherited her father's rundown house on Martha's Vineyard, but she can't hold down a job, and her latest romantic disaster has the entire island talking.

Two beautiful islands only eleven miles apart.

Tabitha Frost is dignified, refined. She prefers a fine wine and has inherited the impeccable taste of her mother, the iconic fashion designer Eleanor Roxie-Frost. She's also inherited her mother's questionable parenting skills--Tabitha's teenage daughter, Ainsley, is in full rebellion mode--and a flailing fashion boutique on Nantucket in desperate need of a cash infusion.

One unforgettable summer that will change their lives forever.

After more than a decade apart, Harper and Tabitha switch islands--and lives--to save what's left of their splintered family. But the twins quickly discover that the secrets, lies, and gossip they thought they'd outrun can travel between islands just as easily as they can. Will Harper and Tabitha be able to bury the hatchet and end their sibling rivalry once and for all? Before the last beach picnic of the season, there will be enough old resentments, new loves, and cases of mistaken identity to make this the most talked-about summer that Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket have experienced in ages.

I at first found the end of this book too abrupt. Then I realized it was because I wanted it to go on. I loved all the characters. They are so believable. If you have never had the opportunity to visit Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket do do. Two specks of heaven on Earth. Than you Elin for this novel which had brought back such great summer memories.

Great summer read, and now with this we get introduced to Martha! Elin touches 3 generations with this work and is spot on in exploring the angst that we deal with in each season of life. Wouldn't mind catching up with Harper and Tabitha again sometime!

I loved the book!!! I did not like that I missed out on a chapter of the story called The country club.

Old school fans of Elin will be extremely disappointed. This is a very simple book with weak characters and a weaker plot. Lots of focus on money and material goods. No substance. Save your money and buy a good book or just buy a Danielle Steele, it's probably better. I was a devoted fan, but she's finally lost me.

I have never been to Nantucket but every time I read one of Elin's books I have this strong urge to visit. She is my go to summer time author!

Loved the story until the end. While all characters were believable and the story was fun for a Summer read it surprised me that in the last 20 -30 pages the story just ends. Many details were left out. Minor, but, pivotal characters just disappeared. Very Disappointing. Not sure I want another one of her books. It was my first Elin Hilderbrand book.

This is her first mystery novel and she nails it! I loved the characters and really did not figure out who the killer was until it was revealed. I am very excited for another installment!

I loved this book. Complex and interesting relationships along the way. I could clearly picture the characters and the beautiful settings. I didn't want this book to end. This was my first book by Elin Hildebrand, and it certainly won't be my last.

The identicals by Elin Hilderbrand Have read many books from this author and have enjoyed them. This was start out with the identical twins and each lives on an island off the coast of MA. One living with their mother, the other with their father. Identical twins and they have pulled their pranks on teachers and boyfriends over the years. You get a lot of the back story as to how they ended up there and how one had a daughter who's a teen now in the story. Alternating chapters from them and also other family members. Due to the parents death they are drawn together and then a medical emergency where the two sisters kinda swap islands to accomplish what needs to be done. Romances and teen problems with drugs and drinking and breakups and finding their one soul mate but it's all a farce as they learn how they are related to the one couple that bring them all together. Lots of drama and I especially liked the island adventures and quiet spots and all about the fashion industry and what works. Also enjoyed the renovations and technical chat about that. Received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
