What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

Beaudoin’s blackly comedic tale takes zombie lore to new territory—not only with the outbreak’s unusual point of origin but also with its consideration of the next phase of human evolution. An utterly original voice, plenty of sly pop-culture references, and a twist ending make for a satisfying read.
—The Horn Book

It is the zombie novel only Beaudoin could write, an allusive horror novel that engages in philosophical, social, and humanist critique while providing plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
—Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books

Horror goes hand in hand with dark comedy in this wickedly unpredictable adventure, as Beaudoin simultaneously skewers the fast food industry and familiar zombie tropes.

I got this library book from my mom two days ago, said that i might like it so i started to read it the next day when i just got it last night. Igot hooked to it and then i could not stop reading it. Finally when i finished the infects i loved it very much and i will say that the plot itself is awsome, but the end was a bit weird anyway i totally recommend it if you are a big zombie reader or your just looking for a good book to read if you don't have a book to read at all.

This book is an amazing beautiful work of art, so dang beautiful that i thought Shakespear himself wrote it, it changed my way of thinking, living, and of course eating. To me this book is my bible. To anyone thinking buying this book do it and let your mind be free..

Im trying to enjoy this book but the writing style loses my interest. Things jump from one topic to another without any trasition. I wouldnt reccomend.

With the popularity of everything "zombie" right now, seventeen-year-old Nick's story fits right in. Working at a chicken factory, Nick has a breakdown and is sentenced to three months in jail. When the dead start walking, Nick and his fellow inmates must learn how to survive. Beaudoin doesn't sugar-coat the zombie craze or hide behind a tawdry love story. Instead, his eccentric characters turn the zombie genre on its head, mixing bloody action with the somewhat disturbing, yet realistic, inner thoughts of the protagonist. Just when you thought the zombie craze couldn't be reinvented.

So either I got the wrong book or the description is totally effed up. I just read a 24 page short story about a kid named nick trying to support his family and come to grips with his feelings for a girl. Definitely not a story about a person named Nero at a rehab camp. The story was cute though, just short. I would give the story 5 stars if I had been properly informed
