The Inhabiter: Reality Deepened

What is real?

There are many scientific theories about what creates consciousness, but not all of them agree. Realizing that science and spirituality have perspectives that complement each other, author Holly Marie Pollard-Wright offers a unique definition of reality combining the disciplines of neurology, cognitive science, and theoretical physics with the Buddhist teachings of the Tibetan master and scholar Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

Accessible to anyone regardless of scientific background, this thoughtful resource explores the idea that, beyond our five senses, there is an observer and experiencer of reality other than the brain in the form of the Inhabiter.

Chapters such as "Mimicking the Computer Brain," "The Power of One," and "Thought Proliferation" use simple illustrations and clear language to provide a unique and credible scientific explanation of the nature of reality and how we experience it.

For anyone interested in melding the scientific with the spiritual, Pollard-Wright uses Buddhism not as a superior faith, but as a starting point in this inspirational and challenging exploration of how we make sense of the vast universe around us.

About the Author

Holly Marie Pollard-Wright is a practicing veterinarian. Her husband, Mark, is a medical doctor, and together they have one son, Benny.

Her awareness that the brain creates, in part, what we experience as reality started when she was eight-years old. This insight has been refined and confirmed over the years through study that began with formal training in neuroscience while attending veterinary school.

Although this education did not involve humans, it provided the foundation for further research into human brain function. Her husband has helped further guide this exploration thanks to his background and work as a neuropsychiatrist.

In addition to The Inhabiter: Reality Deepened, she is also the author of The Inhabiter: A Journey into the Nature of Reality.
