At St. Joe, Missouri, the Samrons met and befriended two other families, the Floarans and the Leahs, who joined their wagon train. The trip was long and arduous, and an attacking band of Indians threatened the group's very survival. But after making a narrow escape, the settlers finally made it to an idyllic mountain valley they soon named Waterfall.
There, they built a community-and new lives-together. The small town beat the odds, and soon the settlers enjoyed a sense of freedom and security. But that wouldn't last long; mystery, heartache, and death soon settled in as well.
For a brave group of hardy settlers intent on building a new future, the present offered the best and worst of times. But together, they faced the many challenges of a land where The Innocent Also Die.
