THE JESUS JOURNEY is an historical novel written from a woman's point of view. It captures the drama and excitement of the man Jesus, as he interacts with the first century Hebrew/Roman world about him. The Gospels tell us little of Jesus' life from his birth until his baptism by cousin John at age 29/30.Erickson fills in the gaps, not with bizaare theories of trips to Tibet, Devon or the moon, but from the hiistorical background of Romam occupied Palestine. The author develops full blown personalities from brief Biblical referneces. The characters join Jesus on his journey and the reader finds him/herself joining the pilgrimage. The book ends, but I wanted it to continue, which may be close to what the Christian life is all about .... i.e. taking the Jesus Journey.
