I had a paperback copy of the Tanakh to use and wanted a hardcover. This one is just what I needed. The essays in the back include Inner-biblical Interpretation, The Bible in the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Languages of the Bible. The explanations which are beside the verses offer a good study explanation.

The notes seem wonderful, but my volume is badly misprinted. The problem starts on page 1607, where the back side of the page - instead of being 1608 as expected - is 1656, jumping from Ecclesiastes into Daniel. Then for the next 50-100 pages, the right-hand sides frequently don't match up with the left-hand sides (for example, page 1692 is rendered alongside page 1645). So a large part of the Kethuvim (from Ecclesiastes through Nehemiah) is pretty much unusable. Other than that it seems like a great Bible with thoughtful and well-informed notes. I hope it's just my copy that's got the misprint, but given the magnitude of the error, I really can't see giving this more than one star.
