About the Author

Richard Abbott Benning McKenzie was born in Kansas City, Missouri and moved to Alexandria, Pennsylvania as a child. He served in WWII and graduated from Franklin & Marshall College.

He has a lifelong love of history and has collaborated on several books, including a history of Falmouth, Maine, by the Falmouth Historical Society, 'Maine Stories & Poems to Read Aloud', 'Lavinia's Shoes' and "Betsy, Girl Scout of Windward Center, 1935' with his wife Lyn. Richard lives on Independence Mountain in Falmouth, Maine.
