This book describes how Vikash, a not-for-profit worked with up to 500 children in a block of one district in Odisha state and brought about a change in their lives. It describes several implementation processes which are usually not widely available and therefore would serve as a guide for others who would like to implement a similar program in their area.

About the Author
Ashok Nanda is the founder secretary of Vikash, a nonprofit organisation working in Eastern India. He has three decades of experience in working with leprosy-affected persons and disabled people towards their rehabilitation in the community. He believes that disability is a technical limitation of science and most people can become able if the community arranges for appropriate technological support. He has planned and designed the community-based rehabilitation project of Vikash. He has also designed the frame of the book.
