Overview

The Keystone of Mormonism by Arza Evans

The Keystone of Mormonism is one of the most powerful books ever written exposing the differences between Mormonism and traditional Christianity. It presents excellent reasoning and scientific evidence that The Book Of Mormon ( a major Mormon missionary tool) is not sacred ancient American history, as claimed by Mormons, but a clever nineteenth century fraud.

About the Author

Arza Evans is a retired college professor from Utah who grew up thoroughly indoctrinated with Mormonism. He went on a full time Church mission, served in several bishoprics, and worked in an Latter Day Saints temple. About age forty he began some serious research into early Mormonism history that led to traumatic, but liberating changes in his life.

This book is amazing. It doesn't just rehash the same old arguments. It brings up points that I'd never thought of previously. The author is able to write in a non-confrontational kind of folksy and grandfatherly way. I'm considering buying multiple copies of this book and giving them to my still Mormon relatives and friends who I know are noticing their own cognitive dissonance and questioning things while still feeling like they need to try and stay believing.

Written by one who has held positions of responsibility in the LDS Church, this is a candid and thoughtful analysis of Mormon doctrines and practices.

Wonderful book, well researched and written for ease of reading. This book is especially strong on the area of Mormon psychology, also with excellent information on why the Book of Mormon and the Pearl of Great Price are fables (II Tim 4:3-4), and how the D&C was and is used for manipulation. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because the author misses the point of the 'Good Samaritan' in the Bible.

The keystone of mormonism is an excellent reference work for those wanting a well researched, well written book on the book of mormon and early mormon leaders and 'prophets'. This author does a great job not only exposing the the truth but documenting his statements. A must read and sure to be talked about.
