Overview

The Killing Season by Meg Collett

In the far Alaskan north, there are places the winter sun cannot reach. Places where light won't shine for months. These are the places we hunt the monsters who feed on fear.

So begins the Killing Season.

For the next sixty-five days, we will face the darkness. Some will hunt the aswangs in the ever night, but I, Ollie Andrews, am here for one purpose: to search for answers to my past.

They told us to fear the arctic tundra and the monsters hiding in the deep, dark shadows. But, locked inside a base known for driving even the best hunters mad, I fear it's not the outside we should worry about, but the deepest, darkest parts of ourselves.

The real monsters are within.

When a brutal murder brings with it the secrets of Fear University-and the threat of an unknown killer on the loose-we all must fight to stay alive. But with madness and paranoia setting in during a whiteout snowstorm, all we can do is hope we don't destroy ourselves before the sun finally rises again. Because no matter how hard we fight, reality will always threaten to tear us apart.

And when faced with the most terrible of truths, even the strongest break.

Another stunningly fast paced and heart pounding read. Don't plan on doing anything else once you start reading - you won't be able to put it down. Twists and turns with highs and lows - this one will leave you breathless and grabbing for the next in the series.

She did it again! Once again the author blew me away, just when you don't think a story can get better it does! The group are in Alaska and what happens you just can't believe! The story is told from Ollie and Sunny's views and totally didn't expect that but it worked. I loved how you got to know Sunny better because of this and you find out more about everyone, both good and bad. Once I started reading I couldn't stop (something that happens each time I read one of her books) and my gasps had my family giving me strange looks but I couldn't help myself. Some things are explained and once they are you're left with more questions. Strong characters and even stronger story make for an amazing read that you just can't put down. Now the waiting begins for the next book and hopefully it won't be that long. Well done Ms Collett! I received this in exchange for a honest review.

An absolutely twisted crazy thrill ride that left me breathless till the very end. It was unpredictable, exciting, wild, and heart-pounding. This book with play with your emotions taking you from one high to the next. There was so much mystery and suspense just when you think you know something that author throws a switch and you find you really knew nothing at all. The characters were fabulous! The addition ones each had a voice of their own and I never knew what to expect. This series is an original, emotional, and excitingly twisted story I can't wait for more!

Holy. Cliffhanger. This book was fantastic. I love Ollie and Sunny and all the other characters. This book broke my heart. It was so well written I couldn't put it down. I flew though this book. Fear University left us with the group going to the middle of nowhere. Ollie has a lot to figure out, with herself, with her friends, and with Fear U. In this book, a few questions are answered but mostly more are raised. Who is lying? Who is trustworthy? I cannot wait until the next book. Five stars again!

I have said it once and I will say it again, the more Meg Collett writes the better it gets!! If the first in this series didn't get you this 2nd installment will!! Ollie, Luke, Sunny, Hatter and Thad are sent to Barrow, the outpost that Luke's father runs. With Ollie recovering from trials, shes suppose to take it easy. But Killian, Luke's dad, has other plans. While the others are out hunting, he wants her to find out who is double crossing the hunters. But while searching, questions come up about who her mother might be. After one of the hunters is murdered, Ollie has an idea of who did it, but they are doing a great job of covering up. Surrounded by danger of the 'swang, the greenhouse full of wolf's bane, and someone killing others, Ollie tries to protect the ones shes loves...until her worst nightmare comes to light!!!!

Totally Blew me away!!Need the next one ASAP!! I didn't think she could top Fear University, man was I wrong! The Killing Season answered questions yet gave us so many new ones!! ~Warning~I would not read this book near a sleeping child or pet.. you will scream out loud a few times. I really liked Luke in FU but now I'm in love! Hatter has grown on me and I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot more of him and Sunny in the next book. I am positive this should be made into a movie! Meg Collett has a very vivid imagination and I thank her each day that she shares it with us.

The second installment of the Fear University series is just as good, if not better than the first. I don't know whether to yell "YAY!!!" or cry!!! These poor young people being manipulated by, not one, but 2 tyrants, each with their own agenda. What ever happened to presidents of schools being someone you could look up to and admire?? Geez!! Sunny and Ollie make odd friends, but they are so fiercely loyal to each other (both girls). And the bond between Ollie and Luke has grown exponentially!! I don't think one could live without the other. But now they are both SO broken. I hope they all come through this brokenness, and all put the other back together. Meg Collett, I take my hat off to you!!
