Okey packs so much information in here. Very up to date and very relevant in an online world. If you're just a casual knitter, this book may have too much information. But if you're interested in knitwear design as career, this is the most informative, easy to understand book out there. Okey is also just a great writer; she keeps it funny, entertaining and real.
This book takes nothing for granted, starting off with a chapter on what it means to behave and function as a professional. Other information-packed chapters include introductions to current social media, various jobs within the industry, copyright/trademark/contracts, writing pattern, proposals, advertising, publishing, and making sales. The final half of the book contains interviews with 32 highly talented designers. Resources, website links, recommended reading and research material are found from the beginning to the end of this book.
