This book is perfect for the beginner or advanced knitter. I have been knitting for over 50 years and yet learned a lot from it. I recommended it to someone I was teaching to knit. With it, even her first sweater will look good. The directions are extremely clear, as are the illustrations. The author even gives the advantages and disadvantages of each technique. It includes instructions to improve those ugly stepped shoulder seams. A sloped shoulder seam is important for a good fit, but I often did not do them because they look so sloppy. This is the one book I don't keep in my bookcase. It is in my knitting bag with my current project.

Even though I am an experienced knitter, this book is really handy to look at and see which technique is the best and maybe different from what you usually do. It has detailed explanations of not only how to do things, but also the pros and cons of doing a certain technique.

I've had this book for a few years but decided to buy the ebook copy of this book so I can have it handy with all of my epatterns. If you can't remember things like how to M1L or an icord bind off, then this is the book for you Its been my favorite reference knitting book for a long time.

Are you a sweater or vest knitter? Do you ever wonder how to weave in tails or join two pieces of your knitted project together so it looks professional? Then you need to get a copy of THE KNITTER’S BOOK OF FINISHING TECHNIQUES. Ms. Wiseman covers every aspect I could think of on how to get the tails of your knitted pieces hidden to how to put those pieces together so you actually have an item of clothing to wear. She begins where all good knitters begin with casting on. I never knew there were so many ways to get your starting stitches on your needles. She goes on from there to increases, decreases and binding off. Seams, hems, picking up stitches – what else do you need to know? Just look in this book and your answer will be there. If you have a gift to give to a knitter friend or family member, this will be a welcome item in their Christmas stocking.

I sent this to my sister for her birthday. She was delighted! Kathy is an experienced knitter and I wondered if this book would be useful and she assured me it would help beginners and seasoned knitters too.

I am an experienced knitter, but I carry this book in my knitting bag and am surprised at how often I refer to it.
