About the Author

Dr Pamela Waugh is a Rehabilitation Counsellor with extensive experience in online counselling in functioning, disability and health. Starting her professional life as a nurse, she specialised in mental health and disability, then re-invented herself as a Rehabilitation Counsellor, graduating from The University of Sydney with Honours in 1997. and completing her Doctorate in 2010. Her doctoral degree was conferred for her research on the language used in constructin rehabilitation services for disabled people.
As a Rehabilitation Counsellor, Dr Waugh has worked in public and private organisations in Australia, and in private practice, having extensive experience on Helplines and other online counselling services. Her current focus is writing in the area of Rehabilitation Counselling with people with disability or social disadvantage.
