Reviewed by Anthony Elmore for Readers' Favorite Billy “The Bruiser” Fenton was an all-star hockey player who played a mean game and loved it. He was one of the best hockey players out there. Everybody who watched him play thought of him as a genuine hero to the NHL franchise, and to those who loved the “Windsor Punch” hockey team. While winning several games by playing rough, Billy “The Bruiser” had a few blocks in the road that lay ahead, ones that would drastically change his future in hockey, or even making it so that he had no future in hockey at all! With all of these unforeseen barriers bringing Billy down, will they totally strip him of a reason to live, or will he overcome life’s obstacles by taking what’s left of his future by the horns? The Last Hockey Fight is an inspirational adventure novel written by Nate Friedman. My mind was blown by how the author could take such an intense theme and turn it into a story filled with excitement, adventure, and hope, while still sticking to the original story. This book had a fast paced plot with an unexpected number of twist and turns. The climax of the story was overpowering to the senses, making it a great book that kept the reader on the edge of their seat. With the very little amount of violence and mild language, this book can be read by any child that is more advanced in reading.
