Praise for The Last Man on Earth:
“Few things are more fun than an enemies-to-lovers romance, and Warren delivers with “The Last Man on Earth”….The hallmark of a truly satisfying romance is the moment when all appears lost….Warren understands this, and pulls out all the stops to keep Madelyn and Zack apart until exactly the right moment.” The New York Times Book Review
"Zippy yet soulful... Deeply relatable characters and strong writing make this a good start to a connected series."—Publishers Weekly
"Pompous. Conniving. Sexy as hell. Madelyn Grayson can’t stand Zack Douglas. Ever since he began
working with her at a prestigious New York advertising firm, he has managed to get under her skin. She
has had enough of his stupid smile, disgustingly beautiful green eyes, and too-perfect body. So when she
spots him at a swanky New Year’s Eve party, she does her best to avoid him. But when he approaches her,
coaxes her into dancing, and kisses her at midnight, she can’t ignore his charm or her desire. The two
begin a secret whirlwind romance that leaves them both burning and wanting more. However, when
Zack’s fears and past problems begin to surface, Madelyn is faced with a difficult choice: stay and risk a
broken heart, or play it safe and leave him. A strong start to Warren’s steamy new series, The Graysons,
Last Man on Earth will leave readers wanting to know more about the Grayson family." Booklist

The Last Man on Earth by Tracy Anne Warren is book #1 in her new series, The Graysons. After feasting my eyes upon the spectacular cover and reading the blurb, I knew that this was a must read! Madelyn & Zach are fierce rivals at their advertising firm. They are in constant competition with one another since both are vying for a big promotion within the company. Zach is the elusive and mysterious playboy of the office that all the ladies have a secret crush on. He hears the outlandish rumors and gossip that are constantly swirling around him, but he chooses to ignore them focusing on work instead. Madelyn is the consummate professional who works twice as hard as everyone else to prove that she is just as good as the men and more than a pretty face. I loved Madelyn’s fiery personality and wit, her character was fun to read and get to know. I loved Zach’s depth of character, there was a lot beneath his surface and I enjoyed when his outer layers were peeled away. However, the story did fall a little flat for me. In my opinion, the connection between Madelyn & Zach wasn’t as intense as it could have been and felt very stiff. The interactions and dialogue were very proper and lacked intimacy between the characters. I missed the discovery, affection, closeness, familiarity and passion that usually accompanies two people falling in love. I simply wanted more. Overall, The Last Man on Earth was a delightful contemporary romance that I enjoyed. Did it wow me? No, but that’s alright. It was still a sugary sweet read that left me wanting to know more because I am definitely intrigued by this family, and world, that Tracy Anne Warren has created.
This was such a good story, one of the best developed plot lines I have read from Tracy Anne Warren, that is saying a lot because I have liked so many. The main characters of this one I felt so deeply for Zack who was a ruthless business man, it was very hard for him to let himself fall in love. He really did have some cruel moments, but he was so well matched by Madelyn. She had so much positive energy but she brought him into her light. She wasn't argumentative or naive but she was strong in a gentle way and her and Zack were rocking the house a lot in this book, it was hot and hard! I felt like this book was just a great combination of romance, sex with a really good plot and characters. I will definitely be reading more of Tracy Anne Warren books and would definitely suggest this! It was one fun read.
Author Tracy Anne Warren brings readers the first book in her new Graysons series. The Last Man on Earth takes readers on a work related romantic adventure from the boardroom to the bedroom. With two very successful advertising agents, a promotion up for grabs, and romance in the air, this is a contemporary romance readers will not want to miss. Warren's knack for writing realistic characters who act and feel like real people, serves her well in this novel about finding love in the most unexpected of places. What I liked: I'll be the first to admit that I'm not always very fond of contemporary romances. I love the grandeur and romanticism of historicals. But lately I have been finding a few contemporary authors that I really enjoy. Finding this new series by Tracy Anne Warren was really a surprise to me. I honestly didn't think I would like it. But after getting into to it a little bit and realizing that I liked the idea of romance in the real world, I started to really enjoy it. Warren does a fantastic job of creating characters that are witty and full of surprises. I liked Madelyn a lot even though she didn't exactly handle things the way I think I would have at times. She was a successful woman who knew how to get what she wanted and was able to do it the right way. She didn't step on those in her way or cause a lot of chaos in the process. I liked her work ethic and her ability to laugh at herself. She and Zack had a lot of good dialogue throughout the book that created moments for comic relief and humor. I thought Warren did such a great job with this character. Zack was pretty amazing for a lot of reasons. Even though he obviously has some demons in his past as far as relationships go, he is a real go-getter in the business world. He isn't afraid to be the bad boy in the work place or out of it and for some reason that was really appealing. He gives off this attitude of nonchalance but underneath he is a real sweetheart and very sexy to be sure. When Zack and Madelyn begin to realize that things are changing from their friends with benefits relationship to real love, things start to get complicated. Madelyn is ready, but Zack is not, or at least he thinks he isn't. Madelyn ends up about to marry someone else before they both come to their senses. The romantic scenes are very hot in this novel and sizzling is probably not a strong enough word to describe them. But the tender moments, like the scene where Zack just can't let Madelyn marry someone else, are poignant and sweet. It was a great combination and rivalry to some extent. Zack and Madelyn's work life is interesting and adds a lot of flavor to the book. Zack is like that little boy in class who pulls your hair because he doesn't know how to tell you he likes you. These two are at each others throats. They are up for the same promotion and ready to battle. That same passion carries over to their experiences in the bedroom and that makes all the difference. They are perfect for each other. What I didn't like: My one complaint about this one, would have to be how Madelyn handled her relationship with James. She dealt him a hard blow deciding on her wedding day that wanted to be with another man. The nice guy finished last and I wasn't too sure I liked that idea. Since this is going to be a series, I really hope that Warren redeems the situation by giving James his own happy ending. It wasn't a deal breaker on the book, but a little disheartening.
A sizzling, sexy read by Tracy Anne Warren. Madelyn does not miss an opportunity to put the sexy, successful, Zack Douglas in his place. But all Zack wants to do is put her underneath him. When they strike a deal to fire up an out-of-office romance, it seems like the perfect way to scratch a sexual itch while not involving rumors, feelings, or emotions. But when Madelyn starts to develop strong feelings for Zack, things get a little complicated. Can Madelyn convince Zack that love doesn't have to lead to heartbreak and despair, or is Zack’s past enough to keep them apart? Overall, I found this book to be a fun, sexy read. In fact, I absolutely loved this book until the best friend/ex boyfriend, James, entered the picture. James and Madelyn’s past was so sweet and caring that I had a really hard time with the way that Madelyn treated him at the end of the book. I think I could have gotten over the jilting at the end of the novel if there had been any type of conversation between Madelyn and James that would have seemingly resolved their relationship in some way. I just really have a soft spot for guys like James and hate to see them be used and discarded. Having said that, I thought that the relationship that formed between Madelyn and Zack was delicious and hot. I also enjoyed that Zack’s past was nothing like Madelyn’s and the way they both had to struggle to accept that. I’m a big fan of the “bad boy turned successful” characterization. The banter and arguments between them over work related issues was humorous and entertaining. I also enjoyed how Zack's character began to change and adapt throughout the book. I enjoyed reading this book and will look forward to reading other novels by Tracy Anne Warren. Rating: 3 Heat Rating: Hot Reviewed by AprilP Courtesy of My Book Addiction and More
Madelyn Grayson has always done what is right, and even though she has always desired a career, she also dreams of marriage and a family with the white picket fence. Her rival in the business world of advertising, Zack Douglas, has reputations she wants to steer clear from. She believes him to be power hungry, deceitful and a womanizer. She steers clear of bad boys like Zack. Madelyn has just broken off her longtime relationship with her closest friend, who wanted marriage, but she wants more than platonic love, she wants passion and desire and a feeling of rightness. But on one night at a wedding reception, Madelyn and Zack share a dance, and spend a passionate night together, and Madelyn finds that she can’t resist Zack and his sexual vibe. As they being a secret affair, both Madelyn and Zack will learn some hard truths about each other, and what it truly means to love… I will admit I had some reluctance to read this one. I hadn’t much ratings or reviews for this book. Now I will say that her historical’s are amazing, and I tend to get nervous when authors change genres, because you never know how it will work out. I was delightfully surprised with this one. Now it is not my favorite of this author, since she is fantastic in writing historical romances, and I do hope she goes back to writing them, but for a contemporary this was an enjoyable story that had me pulled in. I was able to really get into it, and even though there were a couple of aspects of the story I didn’t really like that much, I felt like the set-up of the story was strong, and the plot well balanced. One of my least favorite aspects of the story was the heroine…now she wasn’t terrible, the first half of the story I really loved her. She seemed to be feisty and passionate, but had a good heart. I felt I could really relate to her. What I didn’t like so much was the fact that she seemed to jump to conclusions, and wanted to rush the relationship way too fast. This part of the story didn’t seem that realistic to me. There is also a small aspect of a love triangle, which I wasn’t expecting to see, especially from this author. But as an overall, as a romance novel, this was quite a lovely one. I really enjoyed seeing these two find their HEA, although I will say that it was pretty rough there for a while, but once they got past certain issues, you really feel the story connect to the reader. It did have many qualities that I fully enjoyed, and I loved seeing Warren expand a bit. I am looking forward to the next book. A contemporary romance that is packed with sensuality, angst to love theme, and a romance that will put your emotions through the ringer…a simply delightful love story!!
