A beautifully crafted tale that paints a wonderful picture. He tells a very moving story about friendship that survives tragedy to be rekindled in the recollections of their childhood joy. This is a work that will touch the hearts of the readers whether they played baseball or not. I have told my friends that this one book that they must read!

I couldn't put this book down! The author takes the reader back to one special, memorable summer from childhood filled with friends, family and little league baseball in the 1960s. Like unwrapping a Hershey's Kiss, you peel back the layers of narrative to reveal a soft, sweet center that warms your heart. The story is written with such fond reflection that it's hard not to get drawn in, leaving the reader with a yearning nostalgia for the past innocence of childhood. This book lingers with you long after you finish reading the last page. Not to be missed!

The Last Perfect Summer is a must read! Ed Prence masterfully takes us on a journey back to our childhoods, a time that family and friends meant more than worldly treasures. Children learned to respect their elders. And, a friend was someone special that you loved unconditionally.
