Larry Sparks has been around, almost since the day Bill Monroe was credited with `inventing' bluegrass music... and it's only appropriate that he becomes the first artist to release an album on legendary Del McCoury's new record label. It doesn't hurt that it's just about the best damn bluegrass album you're ever going to listen to...Larry Sparks is absolutely stunning with the simplicity of his delivery of the material here...always subdued, but at the same time, exciting as hell. The album's title track is a great `message' song with a neat twist and there are similar winners in touching story songs Casualty Of War and The Old Coal Mine. Listen also for some laid back winners in I'm Country and Nothing More, Hand in Hand, and For Your Love, the latter written by Matt and Dave Lindsey with Michael Keith (who briefly made his home recently in Nova Scotia).
