This story features Ian and Sarah. Ten years ago they were best friends and vowed that by the time they were 30, if they weren’t married, they’d marry each other. Now, 10 years later, he’s so jaded against love and wants to marry her for companionship only. This story is about Ian’s struggle against falling in love and Sarah falling in love with someone who doesn’t believe in love. The story has sad and tragic moments but it’s also about second chances and happiness.

I have to say that I utterly enjoyed this book it was so funny. So we meet Sarah who had made a bet or promise with her best friend Ian that if they were not both married at the age of 30 they would marry each other. (yes you know where I am going) So on Sarah's birthday, Ian shows up and then the funniness ensues..The only thing that I regretted about this book was that I did not read the previous one, but I will remedy that..Enjoy! Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.

I loved this story about old best friends reconnecting. And this second time was only better...hotter...sexier...spicier! The way they reconnected was hilarious and so unimaginable. I mean, like hello fate, I am going to throw this out there and voila, it happens. That was such a fun and unexpected couple of moments. But I loved their story and how they got to know each other again, this time with the physical connection. My heart broke for Ian and his sadness. Sarah helped heal him and when when he finally got a clue, it was major swoonworthy. Throw in the characters from the previous books and it is perfect. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

I loved this book! Characters from prior books, friends to lovers, all sorts of goodness!! Ian is convinced he can never love because he's still heartbroken over his late brother's death and his parents destructive marriage. Sarah has reached her 30th birthday and tells herself she's happy. But despite a depressing example from her parents, she still believes in love. They have been friends since college and made a silly pact to marry if they were still single at 30. A little drunken texting and Ian finds himself on Sarah's doorstep. And the humor, sweetness, steaminess, and a few mistakes lead to their happy ever after. I love that we get to revisit past couples! I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

College friends make a pact to marry if they have not met and married by their thirtieth birthday. Sarah has her friends, her career and is financially comfortable. Ian has flown into town ready to fulfill their long ago promise. He wants a business arrangement with benefits and so does she. Except Sarah does not want to give up on the love token. "A copy of this book was provided by Entagled books via Netgally with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

THE LAST is the third instalment in Tawna Fenske’s contemporary, adult THE LIST erotic, romance series. This is thirty year olds, aviation specialist Ian Nolan, and social worker Sarah Keating’s story line. THE LAST can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from dual first person perspectives (Ian and Sarah) THE LAST follows the friends to lovers / marriage of convenience relationship between thirty year olds, aviation specialist Ian Nolan, and social worker Sarah Keating. Celebrating her thirtieth birthday, Sarah Keating texted her college best friend Ian Nolan, who reminded our heroine about a pact they made years before promising one another if neither one had married by their thirtieth birthdays, they would become one another’s significant others. In town for a job, Ian Nolan offers Sarah a marriage of convenience that would benefit them both. What ensues is the rebuilding friendship and relationship between Sarah and Ian, and the fall-out as Sarah wants something more than Ian is able or willing to give. Ian Nolan doesn’t believe in love, and continues to struggle with the death of his younger brother. Reconnecting with Sarah brings with it memories of the past including the losses and regrets of his earlier days. Sarah Keating has always wanted marriage and a family but Ian’s offer of marriage doesn’t include a happily ever after, and no promises of love. The relationship between Sarah and Ian is a friends to lovers; a marriage of convenience between two people who love one another but are not necessarily in love. As the days turn into weeks, Sarah’s heart is lost to the man that she loves but Ian is unable to offer more. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The good-natured and colorful, secondary and supporting characters include Simon and Cassie (The List #1), and Simon’s sister Junie: Lisa and Dax (The Test #2), as well as several friends, co-workers and extended family. THE LAST is a story of family, friendship, promises and love with moments of heart break and grief. The premise is captivating; the characters are likeable and energetic; the romance is steamy and hot. THE LAST is a fun, sexy and heart felt.

Ian fell for Sarah when they were young college friends...and he was her very best friend and confidant. But when his brother passed away unexpectedly during their sophomore year and Ian left school the two drifted apart. Now its 10 years later and both have turned 30 - and their college promise to get married if they were both still single at 30 come rushing back. Since his brothers death, Ian has shored up his heart from love. He wants a marriage of convenience, a partnership and friendship, and he absolutely won't let his heart into the equation. And to his utter delight, Sarah agrees. While the two of them get reacquainted, their passion for each other is the one thing they can both agree on. But when Sarah realizes she's fallen head over heels, she know she has to tell him. This couple! I adored them from beginning to end. Sarah never thought of Ian as anything but her best guy pal, and Ian shut himself off for ten long years...but he's fooling himself with his assurance that he can shut down the tenderness he once shared with this amazing woman. The Last is funny, sweet, tender...and sexy as hell! This one will leave you fanning yourself almost from the offset. So. Damn. Good. And an added bonus - fans of Fenske's Ponderosa Resort series will see some familiar characters, totally unexpected, and seemlessly woven in.

I devoured this amazing story. Captivated and totally enthralled I did not put this book down. Tawna's writing is flawless and the story she spilled out onto the pages was from the beyond. Holy nuts it's that good. The story is about Sarah and Ian who have been friends forever and in college made one of those drunk deals that if neither were married at 30 they'd marry each other. Right. Sarah never saw herself unmarried with her 30th approaching but she's got a job she loves, she's independent and tired of bad dates. Ian's successful and a sworn bachelor, no emotions and on total lockdown. When he comes to see Sarah around her birthday she's a little surprised and even more surprised that Ian has come to collect on their bet. He's got his own reasons and offers Sarah a deal. Ian needs an arm charm. He's trying to land a contract with a company that has a strong base in the stability of their workers. Ian sees marriage as the final nudge that will get him this job he really wants. Sarah is put off at first, after being handed a file folder of papers from Ian... she waffles. And wow does she waffle. Ian isn't pushy or obnoxious and he's honest. There's something to be said for that. They know each other well and their own issues. Through some of the finest writing I've seen a a long time, the story unfolds with emotion, ups and downs, a twist or two and plenty of steam to generate a small city. I am leaving this hang here. This book is an absolute must read and I can't babble enough about how much I loved it. I didn't want it to end. I just didn't. Thank you Tawna! Freaking amazing! arc from NetGalley and Entangled for an honest review

I loved the first two books in this series so I was so excited for Sarah's story. I actually have loved every book I've read by this author so I knew this book was going to be amazing. Sarah is turning 30. By now, she thought she'd be married and have family but her dating experiences could be a book of disasters. On her birthday, she tells her friends of a pact she made with her college BFF. If they were both single when they turned 30, they would marry each other. So enter Ian and his new ideas about what marriage should be: a business arrangement. These two were something else. I loved the banter, the history, the chemistry. I was glued to this book from the second I started to the very end. I can't wait to see what comes next from this author!! *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*

The best was definitely saved for last. This was the series that introduced me to Tawna Fenske. I did not want the series to end, but it went out with a bang! I fell in love with these characters with the first book, and I did not want to see it all end. Sarah was one of my favorites since she first came on the page. Seeing her get her happily ever after with Ian was worth the wait. I am really going to miss this crazy cast, but that just means I'll read all the books over again and again.

I loved this book! It made me laugh, and cry, and gave me ALL THE FEELS! Sarah Keating has her life so together. She runs a residence program for adults with Down Syndrome, which was her lifelong dream. She is financially stable, she owns her own home, and she has great friends. She basically has it all, but she has no partner to share it with. While tipsy on her 30th birthday, she remembers the pact she made with her college best friend, who she hasn't seen in 10 years. They said if they were both unmarried at 30, they'd marry each other. So, she messages him. What's the harm in asking, right? Ian Nolan is vying for his dream career in Portland with an aviation company, after living in New York for the last 10 years. When Sarah messages him, he's thrilled to hear from her, and since he's in town, he decides to surprise her by stopping by at her place. Best decision ever. But Ian has issues he hasn't dealt with, and he prefers to live his life numb to deeper emotions, after losing his younger brother a decade ago. When he proposes a marriage of convenience, more like a business merger than a romantic prospect, he throws Sarah for a loop. But he's sure this is the best way to approach a marriage. Can he convince Sarah to take the leap with him? Sarah and Ian have chemistry like whoa, and their connection is off the charts hot. Considering they were only ever friends before, their sexual compatibility is like a revelation for both of them. But, they are both convinced they can keep feelings totally out of it. Just friendship, companionship, sex, and a shared life, but not love. Famous last words. Though this story went down exactly as it seemed it would, it still kept me on edge, waiting for the bottom to drop out. I was at times tearful, laughing, smiling, and swooning. What a delight. I loved the peeks we got of the characters from the first two books here. Getting to see Cassie and Simon (from book one) get married was awesome, and Simon's sister Junie made quite the full appearance as well. These people have really become a family to each other (though some were sisters already), and it was lovely to see how their lives have come along. There was a lot of closure in this book for the entire series, and I loved it. Sarah was honest throughout about how she was feeling, and I loved that about her. Ian really had to work hard to get over his stunted emotional issues, and decide if losing love was worth staying numb and emotionally closed off. Ian and Sarah really knew each other, even though it had been many years since they were truly in each other's lives, and they were really good for each other, and cared about each other. They were the true definition of friends first, and their adventure together falling into true love was a very memorable one. I adored this story, and this entire series. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

This is an interesting twist on the second chance romance. Sarah and Ian were best friends in college until Ian left after his brother died their sophomore year. Ten years have past and they have kept in touch via Facebook and their annual birthday messages. Sarah is celebrating her thirtieth birthday with her friends when she tells them about her pact with Ian that they would get married to each other if they were both single when they turned thirty. Her friends encourage her to text him, which leads to them reconnecting. Ian has changed since college, he has locked his heart down so he can never be hurt loving someone again. He suggests a marriage of convenience with Sarah, and she agrees. Problem is, love is not always convenient. I loved this book, it had the right amount of humor and angst. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review

THE LAST has all my favorite ingredients -- heat, heart, and hilarity -- wrapped up in another delicious offering from Fenske. This friends-to-lovers romance will have you laughing, saying "aww," and fanning yourself, often simultaneously. It's the perfect escape, and all I can say is, I certainly hope it isn't "the last" from this author. Grab a copy and get to know Sarah and Ian. You'll be glad you did.

No one writes romcoms quite like Tawna Fenske and this is a great one. I has laugh out loud moments, emotional moments, and sizzling hot steamy moments. A long ago pact made between Sarah and Ian has her sending a drunken birthday text and Ian arriving on her doorstep. Both of these characters have baggage making their marriage of convenience plan seem like the way to go. Before diving in headfirst they decide to have a trial period. Let the fun sexy times begin!! Wonderfully written with a nice strong story, very well developed characters and an easy flow. While book 3 of a series it is easily read standalone. I would definitely recommend this book.

Another winner! This book is both sexy and sweet in all the right ways. I loved how Sarah and Ian reconnected after many years....it's not you're typical meet-cute, but instead is so much better. Their story is engaging and I found myself captivated by their characters and hoping for them to get their HEA ending. While this is part of a series, it is a stand alone novel. However, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The only negative thing I can say about this book is that it ends the series and I'm sorry to see the characters go. Fans of the genre will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

4.5 Stars! I'm starting this review a little backwards. The stunning epilogue was the perfect capper to Ian And Sarah's romance, as well as the interconnected 3-book series. I even got a little misty-eyed. While this author's women's fiction (ie. Now That It's You, At the Heart of It) are my favorite, these quicker paced rom-coms give me my needed fill until the next release. They also manage to have some hidden depth and poignancy that I equally love from her longer fiction. Like all of her books, the character's are people I would love to have in my life - authentically real. And like every hero before Ian, I think that this one has become my favorite yet. As for the sexy, I think this one has exceeded all previous expectations. IT WAS SEXY! This was a friends-to-lover's romance that delivered on all fronts from an author that has never disappointed.

The Last is another HEA story by Tawna Fenske that will give you all the feels. This isn’t a typical friends to lovers story. Its has steamy chemistry and a lesson on how you can only lie to yourself for so long. Buckle up- you’re in for some Goodwill steals, cat butts, steamroom sex, and lots of laughs!

Favorite Quotes: For the record, it’s a bad sign when the guy you’re having sex with buys you sleepwear that suggests you should cover up more. I’m grinning like a girl who just unwrapped Barbie and the Barbie Dreamhouse… “You just had a big birthday, am I right?” Glenda’s sympathetic cluck would be more appropriate if she offered it to someone who just lost a limb. “Best get to it, sweetheart. Those eggs are drying up.” He stretches up and pulls back the cover on the car’s sunroof. It takes me a few seconds to figure out what I’m staring at. “Is that a butthole?” Ian nods solemnly. “Yep. The feline variety.” … The cat stays seated with its stink-star pressed against the glass… “I’d just appreciate him removing his cheerio from our line of sight… Well, fiancée… I can’t promise you romance, but I can promise you laughs.” “And cat buttholes,” I add. He squirts some canned cheese onto a cracker and hands it to me. “Keeping it classy.” My Review: I mirthfully smirked and periodically fanned myself throughout this fun and wickedly humorous tale featuring a pair of past college friends who had missed their chance at a deeper connection due to unfortunate timing and circumstances, but were back in touch ten years later while circling that big three-o celebration of their birth, and recalled they had jokingly made a pact to marry at that particular milestone if both were still single. Ian thought he was taking a practical route of leaving love out of the mix by establishing a legal contract for a relationship of mutual attraction and benefit. Sarah was agreeable and determined to see the common advantage to deem it acceptable to settle for less than true love, but was having some minor difficulties in getting there. If not in total simpatico, they were more than compatible in most ways that counted, and then some. The plot seemed far-fetched yet the storylines were so smoothly engaging and gleefully entertaining, the premise became reasonably convincingly. And oh my, sizzle and snap, this couple of dirty talkers needed to keep a fire extinguisher handy as they were atomically hot and sensually matched well enough to leave scorch marks not only on the sheets but also on the ceiling, floor tiles, walls, and car seats. I had greatly enjoyed the previous books in this series and was instantly enamored with these endearing and cleverly crafted characters as well.
