When Love Walks Through the Door . . .
Like all MacKenzie men, Whit respects three things: hard work, his family, and the wild beauty of the Montana land he calls home. The solitude of the high country is a welcome respite to a loner like Whit. So when a powerful spring snowstorm hits as he's tending the herd, Whit heads to one of the family's isolated cabins. The cold winds don't trouble him. The gorgeous mystery woman waiting inside does.
All Cara Walton wanted was a chance to clear her head. And the forgotten cabin on the outskirts of the MacKenzie ranch seemed like the perfect place to do just that-until Whit arrives. The rugged cowboy quickly melts Cara's defenses and she's powerless to resist his strong arms or his tender touch. She desperately wants to trust him, but there's so much Whit doesn't know, so much she hasn't told him. She lost everything once-can she find the courage to risk her heart again?

The last thing that Whit MacKenzie expects to find in his isolated ranch cabin is a gorgeous blonde stowaway named Cara Walton. Cara is down on her luck, jobless, and looking for a safe place to hide from a ruthless ex-boyfriend and she is also hiding from a shady man in a suit who is wanting to keep her from reporting what she witnessed days earlier. After her car leaves her stranded on a lonely dirt road she wanders until she finds an abandoned ranch cabin, and decides that this is as safest place as any to take shelter until she decides her next move. What she doesn't expect is to have a handsome cowboy stumble in the door seeking shelter from a late spring snowstorm. After the storm passes and it's safe to travel back to his ranch Whit offers for Cara to return home with him, and she agrees, but wonders if she is making the right decision. What she finds is a warm and loving family waiting with open arms to help her in her time of need, and give her the support she has always been without. But she still continues to look over her shoulder and worry that the trouble she has been running from is still out there lurking and waiting to catch up to her when she least expects it... This was my first book by this author and I have to admit that it made a very good first impression, so much so, I plan to read the other books in the series. I love a good western story that has a strong alpha cowboy equipped with a gentle spirit and kind heart and Whit fit the bill perfectly! He is the kind of cowboy ladies dream of finding, and Cara definitely found her knight and shining armor at the perfect time! I absolutely loved every minute I spent reading this story, it had me smiling the whole way through!! Best book I have read in a while!! Highly recommend you make a visit to Copper Creek and meet the Mackenzie men, they will leave you with a happy heart and a smile on your face!
