Very cool book. The weather is the antagonist in this thriller that is both suspenseful and educational.

This book is an absolute page turner. The mystery grows with each chapter, keeping the reader glued to the book. Like in Viral, the first book, Lilliefors manages to create an innovative and realistic thriller. In Viral, the danger was biological warfare, now we’re introduced to the concept of weather mitigation (the idea of weather manipulation as a type of warfare).  There is a range of secondary characters, but the author manages to weave their plots together wonderfully. Lilliefors also manages to add a good dose of romance toward the final act. My only complaint is that there is barely (and I do mean barely) any interaction between Jon and Charles Mallory, our returning characters from Viral. We know Charles cares for his brother, but it’s hard to understand why considering they’ve been estranged for years and have almost zero interaction in the book. Also, Jon is basically absent from the majority of the story. I hoped the author would introduce a stronger brotherly bond between the two, or at the least explore the intricacies of their relationship. However, the plot of the story is strong enough to keep you interested. Given the ending, I’m positive that a third book is surely to be written.

Good read. Weather mitigation is a fascinating topic that isn't exactly on the international radar these days.
