Christmas is my favorite holiday and piano playing is one of my favorite pastimes. This book contains many of my favorite songs which are not too difficult for me to play. I enjoy singing as well as playing piano. This book contains over 100 songs with their complete verses. I am having fun with it already. I also love the fact that the spiral book binding and white pages make the notes easy to read. I recommend this book to all.
When it was suggested that my kids at work go out caroling, I immediately thought of your books and found this one. Not only are all the greats included, you have included all the words, and two of my clients have been using it to accompany the singers on their keyboard. It is a valued addition to my collection.
This very fine collection of Christmas repertoire by Amy Appleby and Peter Pickow has about 115 of the world's best loved Christmas music. There are many familiar songs and carols such as Silent Night, The 12 Days of Christmas, O Christmas, Deck the Halls, O Holy Night, etc. All of the selections in the book have ALL of the verses, not just the first and second. I didn't even know that some of these verses existed. Best of all, there are pieces in this book that are not ordinarily found in most Christmas books. These would include instrumental versions of some of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker and Waldteufel's Skater's Waltz. I enjoyed playing the selections from Handel's Messiah and Herbert's Babes in Toyland. There are selections in this book that can be played year round. I would recommend this book highly if you love singing the 'hard-to-find songs' from Christmas Mass and for those who love celebrating the true meaning of an old-fashioned Christmas. With tasteful illustrations, durable plastic binding and fairly easy to play arrangements, this book will compete your collection.
