The Life and Legend of Chris Kyle: American Sniper, Navy SEAL by Michael J. Mooney

New York Times bestseller

The life story of Chris Kyle, the American Sniper

Journalist Michael J. Mooney reveals the life story of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the American Sniper, from his Texas childhood up through his death in February 2013.

A brutal warrior but a gentle father and husband, Kyle led the life of an American hero and legend. His heroism and reputation in the military service earned him the nickname "the devil" among insurgents and the nickname The Legend among his SEAL brethren, but his impact extended beyond that after he came home, through his work with fellow veterans.

Mooney also sheds light on the life of the suffering fellow veteran who killed Kyle and interviews those closest to the late SEAL. The Life and Legend of Chris Kyle is an honest portrayal of the life of a man whose memorial service brought thousands of people to Cowboys Stadium--the most celebrated war hero of our time.

Waste of even the couple bucks it cost. 88 pages of rehashed stories that you can get first hand from Kyle's autobiography. Unoriginal "abridged style" biography. Overly easy read..nothijng new. If you are too lazy to read Kyle's 300 pager this is for you.

A nicely written synopsis of the life of Navy Seal Chris Kyle. This book gives insight to the life of a man dedicated to his family, and his country. What a wonderful legacy he left behind for others to learn about.

Mooney writes an excellent account of Chris Kyle's life. With enough drama and light hearted information, this book is a pleasure to read. It makes you really appreciate what our service men and women go through for our country.

American sniper was a great book in my opinion but lacked excitement at times. In his writing sometimes it was hard to understand what he was talking about with all the military terms. He didn't really care for what he said, not saying its a bad thing because most soldiers cursed and still do. It took me a few weeks to read the book pacing myself to clearly understand his stories. My favorite part was probably when he talked about his wartime experiences because you could see how brutal it got. My brother is in the army and he tells me stories about what goes on near Iraq. That was probably the reason I got this book to begin with because I can relate to what Chris went through . Overall a fantastic book and I encourage people interested in war to get this book. R.I.P Chris Kyle

Typical military profanity-too much for my taste. The stories of his life are alternating riveting, inspirational and sad. The other "hero" is his wife who was able to stand living that kind of life because she loved him so much! Stateside USA will never fully understand the sacrifice our soldiers make every day because they love freedom. This book gives us a little glimpse into a world that only a soldier can understand.

Chris Kyle was an amazing sniper, potentially even better then Gunnery Seargent Carlos Hathcock who had 93 confirmed kills in Vietnam.
