With over a dozen years in local church ministry, Justin Lathrop has spent the last several years starting businesses and ministries that partner with pastors and churches to advance God’s kingdom. He is the founder of Helpstaff.me (now Vanderbloemen Search), Oaks School of Leadership, and YoungPastors.com, and is intensely involved in his local church, The Oaks Fellowship in Red Oak, Texas. Justin lives to make strategic connections for greater global impact. He serves in the area of strategic relations for organizations like the Assemblies of God, Leadership Network, and Convoy of Hope.

Sweet currently serves as the E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Drew Theological School at Drew University, in Madison, New Jersey; and a visiting distinguished professor at George Fox University in Portland, Oregon. He is the founder and president of SpiritVenture Ministries.  

He is the bestselling author of more than sixty books including Soul Tsunami and hundreds of articles. He has over 1,000 published sermons, and currently is the chief weekly contributor to the lectionary-based sermons.com. Sweet has weekly podcasting on iTunesU entitled Napkin Scribbles.

Sweet is an honors and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Richmond. He earned an MDiv from Colgate/Rochester/Bexley Hall/Crozer and a PhD from the University of Rochester. Sweet is the recipient of honorary Doctorates of Divinity from University of Richmond, Baker University, Lebanon Valley College, Coe College, and Otterbein College.

He currently resides on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands, Washington.
