The Lion's Den is the fifth Installment of the riveting and highly addictive Knights of the Darkness Chronicles.

Darian, Elise and Xander have been through very rough times in the past,
but nothing has prepared them for the menace that is causing all kinds of havoc in their territory this time around. Chicago is at the mercy,
or lack thereof, of a ruthless gang of supernaturals who seem to take extreme pleasure in other people's pain. In this game of cat and mouse,
there's no way to tell who's the predator and who's the prey.

This book has been previously published and has been substantially revised from its original release.

Picks up storylines from previous books. Sad that some subplots of new characters fizzle out. Discover Adrain is in a new relationship but have no way of knowing how he got there.

The Lions Den, book 5 in the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles, takes place about two years after the end of Hostile Territory book 4. Relationships have changed and matured over this time and the crimes on the supernatural front have been pretty quiet, that however changes in a big way. We do get to know more of the characters that were introduced in Hostile Territory, book 4, I found they were brought right into the group that makes up the heroes and heroines of the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles books. I have give a little *SPOILER ALERT* at this point to explain why this book to me got a 3 1/2 flower rating while the others to date have rated much higher. This book has as a large part of the antagonist plot the murder and sexual abuse of children. I have a really hard time with this if the rest of the writing and the story had not been as well done as it was I would have had to rate it even lower. The murder and abuse are never trivialised and the hero/heroine characters are sufficiently horrified however as I said this made the book far less enjoyable to me. I did love the way that past and new relationships have developed and I love to read about the way that our arrogant master vampire takes care of a baby. This book did have funny moments and tender loving moments as well as the sexy steamy moments that we have come to love from the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles series. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
