Just what is the little world of Liz Climo?  It’s a world populated with quirky animals – dinosaurs, anteaters, bears, rabbits, sloths, and pigs, just to name a few – that are just like you and me, well almost.  But yet, what’s amazing is that the animal characters and situations featured in Liz’s comics perfectly capture life’s sweet, silly, endearing, and awkward moments and emotions – there is much that we can all relate to whether we have two legs or four. While reading THE LITTLE WORLD OF LIZ CLIMO, I found myself lingering on each page – the art and conveyed sentiments are beyond wonderful.  Brilliant is a word that comes to mind – and that’s not a word that I toss around lightly.  The art is beautifully non-fussy.  The critters are drawn with simple, rounded lines and their faces have such a sweet and innocent quality about them – most likely due to the black dots for eyes, various nose styles, and no mouths.  The comics are set against a white backdrop – there are no backgrounds or unnecessary props to distract from the scene. The subdued earth tone color palette adds a cozy and mellow feel to the comics. Each and every one of the comics* in Liz’s book was impressive and charming – her wit and creativity did not wane, not even flicker, as I progressed from the first page to the last.  If you pick up a copy of THE LITTLE WORLD OF LIZ CLIMO for yourself, I hope you will love it as much as I do. *150 comics – and 50 of them are new and book exclusive so you won’t find them on Liz’s tumblr site! isniffbooks[dot]wordpress[dot]com Disclosure:  I received a complimentary review copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
