A great book that details what it was like to grow up during World War 2. The main character communicates with his father who is abroad which provides an insight into a loving relationship that is marred by the effects of war. We also follow the main character and his friends on their mischevous adventures and their coming of age during a time of innocence. The book carries relevance to today's current events...the fear and effects of war on the children. This is a story of those on the 'Home Front'.
