About the Author

Laura Stewart Schmidt was frightened and inspired at an early age by classic ghost stories such as The Monkey's Paw and The Supper at Elsinore, as well as Unexpected and House of Mystery comics. She is the author of Until Proven Innocent, a YA mystery (Black Rose Writing, 2018), and Don't Fear, My Darling, a domestic suspense novel (Black Opal Books, 2019). She has degrees in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and is pursuing an MFA in Fiction Writing at Lindenwood University. Laura is a member of Sisters in Crime and the SCBWI.
