The Lost Amulets is the first book of the series The Amulets of Panagaea.

She wants to introduce a whole new class of fantasy creatures to the world while preserving myths, legends, folktales, beliefs, and superstitions from the Philippines.

About the Author
Since she migrated in 2007 to Prince Edward Island, the smallest province of Canada, she has written several reviews for onrpei.ca and maintains a blog (www.cindylapena.com) where she shares poetry, essays, art, and other random works and ideas. Before moving to Canada where she gained citizenship in 2013, she had written several educational and academic texts, as well as a full-length play that won 3rd prize in the Philippines's prestigious Carlos Palanca National Awards for Literature in 2007. She has also been a teacher and associate professor of writing and communication arts and holds a Master of Arts in English Literature with a focus on Drama and Creative Writing.
In 2012, she took the plunge and signed up for NaNoWriMo, completing her 50,000 words within the month, and completing the novel the next month. The result is this book, her first novel.
She started painting seriously in 1994 and is the owner of Art 'n' Words Studio & Gallery (www.artnwords.ca), which she established in 2013.
As part of her dedication to mentoring and helping writers, she created The Writing Pool (www.thewritingpool.com), where she publishes a weekly newsletter for writers and provides multiple resources such as tips on grammar, writing, and publishing, as well as listings for Canadian and international literary contests and events.
