The Lost Castle Treasure is the 2nd book of the Sir Kaye Series! Kaye, Reggie & Beau are living at Knox Castle but nothing is what it seems with mysterious noises, unexplained events and a missing treasure to be found. As they search for the missing treasure, a group of knights make a deadline of when Kaye needs to find the treasure or Kaye's will risk losing his knighthood and a war will be started. It all leads to a cave and a tunnel with someone behind the scenes helping the boys find the treasure before it's all too late!! I think I liked this book better than the first just due to the boys having to find a treasure and what they discover along the way that ultimately helps them in the end! I was a little shocked in the end for what is gonna happen in the next book and what had happened that lead to that point but that is what makes this a great series, it makes you think what is to come for these three boys!! This series so far has exceeded my expectations of what to expect from a medieval series for kids! Thank You to Don M. Winn for writing this series that I hope gets kids to reading more books that use their imaginations! This book came from my own personal Library!

Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite Sir Kaye the Boy Knight, Book 2: The Lost Castle Treasure by Don M. Winn is a fast paced adventure story that will take young readers for a spin with its hidden clues, lost treasure in the castle, secret passages and many other exciting happenings. Readers are taken on a roller coaster ride along with the triumphs and failures of Kaye, who goes in search of the hidden treasure with his friends Reggie and Beau so that he will not lose his knighthood forever. They also have to deal with the jealous knights who want to get rid of Kaye. The story, apart from its exciting moments, also throws light on the concepts of chivalry. I found the book interesting with its medieval theme. The castle, the enchantment of the secret passages, and other twists in the plot keep readers glued to the story as Kaye, Reggie and Beau entertain with their humor. The author's descriptions are detailed and the imagery is wonderful, making the scenes aesthetically visual. The black and white sketches complement the story and give clarity and movement to the scenes. The mysterious sounds and the strange events add to the spooky element in the plot, giving it an edge as the story progresses. All the characters are sketched well and the sub plots have been woven into the main plot masterfully. The plot has all the ingredients to make it an exciting read for children: mystery, adventure, spookiness, intrigue, suspense and three interesting characters.

Reviewed by Jack Magnus for Readers' Favorite The Lost Castle Treasure is Book 2 of Sir Kaye the Boy Knight, Don M. Winn's epic fantasy series for children and preteens. Kaye and his friend, Reggie, have come to stay in Knox Castle. They'll be living there with the widowed queen and her nephew, Beau. Reggie loves the castle and thinks it's a big improvement over hearing about his father's plans for getting him into the wool business, but he's not terribly keen on the idea of being tutored each day with Kaye and Beau. Reggie loves stories and looking at the pictures in books, but he's never been able to read or write. The queen has had some alarming news about an old agreement between Knox and its neighboring country, Eldridge. Until now, Knox was making small payments as a settlement to Eldridge, but that country now wants the entire amount still owed and has threatened war if this doesn't happen. Kaye decides that he'll save the day by finding the rumored treasure that's been hidden in the castle -- but they don't have very much time. Don M. Winn's epic fantasy for children and preteens, The Lost Castle Treasure: Sir Kaye the Boy Knight, Book 2, is exciting and filled with adventure. Dave Allred's illustrations work perfectly with the story and gave me a good frame of reference for the people in the story and Castle Knox. While Kaye is the titled hero, my personal favorite is the self-effacing and clever Reggie, whose loyalty and willingness to confront frightening situations is exceeded only by his appetite. The Lost Castle Treasure contains maps, clues and a castle filled with sliding panels, hidden rooms and even a spook who leaves candy. While it is the second part of a series, I found the author gave more than enough background to allow me to enjoy The Lost Castle Treasure as a stand-alone novel. It's great fun and highly recommended.

Reviewed by Faridah Nassozi for Readers' Favorite In The Lost Castle Treasure, Book One by Don M. Winn, young Kaye finally got his wish, and he earned his place in the Knights. However, in earning his place he also earned enemies. Now in Sir Kaye the Boy Knight: Book 2, he was back at the castle, ready to serve the queen, but those enemies would not let him serve in peace. The country was in trouble, they were unable to meet their financial obligations to the neighbouring country, and this was threatening their peace. The late king, before his passing, emptied the treasury and hid all the treasure to protect it. Now the treasure was needed but was nowhere to be found. But the king had left behind a clue and Kaye was determined to use it and find the treasure, even if all other knights had tried and failed. With his two accomplices, the treasure hunt began, but a lot stood in the way, and time was running out. The Lost Castle Treasure - Sir Kaye the Boy Knight: Book 2 continues with the thrilling adventure of Kaye and his friends and again Don M. Winn delivers a thrilling tale for children that is guaranteed to take them on a one of a kind adventure - a treasure hunt, spooks, clues and secret passages. There is something about the way Don M. Winn starts his stories that gets you hooked right away. The setting, tone and writing style are all just perfect for young minds and the incredible illustrations bring more depth to the story and make it more vivid. The Lost Castle Treasure is a fun and easy way to teach kids about loyalty, trust, perseverance, patience and other important life values. It is a definite five-star children's story and I can't wait to see what awaits the reader in Book 3.
