About the Author
I've always been a writer of some sort, having spent my career working as a reporter, anchor or producer in television news. Fiction is a lot more fun, since you don't have to deal with those pesky things known as facts. I grew up in the New York City metropolitan area and now live on the Gulf Coast where I will never shovel snow again. I'm happily married to a math teacher and we share our wonderful home with our tortoiseshell tabby cat, Gypsy.

This is the first book I've read by the author and he had me laughing and crying about how four little orphaned kitties "rescued" a hard nosed report by bringing balance into her life and spreading the love.
Great story, oved all the characters. Read in 2 days, highly recommend & I'll be reading more if his!
Madison Shaw is a network television reporter and today she is covering a story about the demolition of a building. Just before the explosion is scheduled to start, she hears the cries of a little of four kittens whose mother has died. With no one to take care of the newborns, she finds herself taking them home with her. Luckily, her neighbor is a vet who shows her how to bottle feed and care for the babies. For someone who knows nothing about caring for a real baby, Madison takes to the process quite well. When her boyfriend expects her to abandon the kittens and head out on a vacation with him, she is furious and kicks him out. Madison had been an abandoned baby herself and grew up in foster homes. Madison soon learns that one thing about caring for the kittens is that she has stepped away from her obsession to always be well-turned out and it has shown her how to be more relaxed in her life. Her good friend from school, Rory, steps in to help her with the kittens and as more of her friends converge upon her in her “relaxed” state, they all cheer her for her determination to help the kittens. As a reporter, the story of her selfless act of taking the kittens in and caring for them soon gets out in the press and on social media. Many people step up and make donations to shelters and send Madison lots of kitty supplies as well. Soon, she meets a handsome police officer and a very wealthy man. Both men appeal to her and they like her too. But she realizes that it is wrong to date two men at a time and must soon make a choice. This is a cute story that proves how helpless animals pull at our heart strings and how easily we draw them right into our hearts. Great characters, humor, and clean. You don’t necessarily have to be an animal lover to enjoy this book but it will probably make one out of you. Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
A purr-fectly heartwarming story. While news reporter Madison Shaw is covering a story about the demolition of a stadium, four orphan kittens were discovered along with their mother who had died. Madison was reluctant to take them, but when she couldn't find anyone to help and the shelters were closed for the weekend, she decided to care for them herself. Having been dumped by her mother when she was an Infant, Madison knows what it is like to be abandoned. The kittens change Madison's life after a video of her feeding them goes viral. She was a hard-nosed reporter who most people didn't like. But the kittens brought out a surprisingly softer side of Madison. They help Madison become a better person, find true love and break a big case that she had been working on. This book was entertaining and very well written. I especially loved the fact that one of the rescued kittens was a special needs baby. It brings attention to animals that aren’t perfect and shows how they are all equally lovable and make great pets. I would definitely recommend it to any animal lover or romance and chick lit fan.
I'm a fan of Nic's books and anyone who knows me will realise I am also a soft-hearted 'mad cat lady' so the combination of the two almost guaranteed me the perfect book. Add in a feisty red-head and a couple of rather fit guys, one being a cop *swoon* then I knew I was going to heaven! Almost from the get go we are introduced to the four little bundles of fur-babies. Madison Shaw is a tough cookie, news reporter and is out on an assignment when she discovers the aforementioned kittens in a building due for demolition. She insists on taking them home, not quite sure what she has let herself in for, but her neighbourly vet soon enlightens her of the delights of regular bottle feeding and cleaning of the little darlings. Madison soon takes it all in her stride and the kittens flourish under her care, her friends all rally round to cat-sit if she needs to work. The once 'perfect' boyfriend soon becomes history when it is apparent he is not compatible with the felines. They have successfully seeped into her heart and the outer shell of Madison begins to crack and a much nicer side of her is revealed. It transpires she had a tough childhood and I love the way she got her name. Word soon gets out after rescuing another cat and a video of her feeding her brood goes viral. She is all of a sudden in huge demand as the saviour of the kittens. After the previous disastrous romance she is a little wary when dating again .. she has two eligible guys and finds it hard to choose between them. Maybe her kitty can help her out? This is such a cosy, adorable story, it can't help but lift the spirits. Even if you aren't a cat lover there are so many other things happening. An absolute delight to read, it left me with a smile but also missing the star of the show 'Buster'. Highly recommended, settle down, get comfortable, hug your furbabies close and enjoy. Many thanks to Nic, Harper Impulse and Netgalley for the ARC.
