The Lost Girl by Dotti Enderle tells the story of three friends, Juniper, Gena, and Anne, who have formed The Fortune Tellers Club. While trying to find Gena's retainer, Juniper happens upon an image of a stranger's face. The story is propelled by Juniper's quest to find the answer to this mystery. Juniper and her friends are plunged into adventure after adventure until the exciting and surprising climax keeping the readers on the edge of their seats. It's The Babysitters Club meets Nancy Drew, and it introduces three of the liveliest and most enjoyable characters you could find today. By the end of the book you want to know more about them. How lucky for us that their story will be continued in Book 2. As a teacher with 15 years of experience I recommend this book highly. The characters are very well developed and the story elements are clearly drawn. It is so engrossing that once you start reading you will not be able to put it down. I am looking forward to reading more about this fascinating group of girls.

This is a story that will appeal to young girls who dream of magical moments and of making a difference. Juniper, Gena, and Anne are easy to get to know and could be the girls next door. They start out looking for an everyday item and end up on a 'running out of time' search for a lost girl. Enderle comes through with a bang up finish. I can't wait to read the next one!
