Pastor Dawrell Rich leads a guided twenty-one-day journey in this devotional focusing on love. Together, we recall how God's unconditional love envelops us, reclaim the love we have for ourselves, and recommit to spreading that love to others. Jesus said, "By this all men and women will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:35). Some of the faithful have deviated from the path of love and chosen a road of judgement and fear. They even justify their verbal and physical abuse against those who do not think or believe as they do. But "love does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs" (I Corinthians 13:5).
Our responsibility as disciples of Jesus Christ is to extend ourselves as love personified. While fear seeks to restrict us, love lives within, seeking to liberate us and the world. Becoming a disciple of love requires we be disciplined in it. Among the other spiritual disciplines we may practice-prayer, fasting, and sacred reading-a discipline of love is required to be effective in them all.
