Inspired by the works of Philip K. Dick (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) and William Gibson (Neuromancer), The Low End Kid is a high-stakes acid trip through cyberspace filled with bad men and dangerous women.
By the end of the 21st century, the cyber-entity known as the Collective controls what remains of the world after a long devastating war, using reality-altering drugs to bend countless minds to a singular will. Obey and earn reward. Resist and become a brigand (an outcast) condemned to persecution, or worse -- deletion at the barrel of a bounty hunter's gun.
Nineteen-year-old orphan Max Zander, a Lo-ender living in the old boroughs of New York City, survives on his wits and the willingness to do whatever it takes to score credit. As a hunter snatching those who defy the Collective, Max thinks he's got everything figured out, that is until he encounters Zoe Chacon, an aging brigand with ties to the parents he never knew. As their relationship grows, opening his eyes to the truth all around, the Collective orders Max's deletion, forcing him to choose between his life and that of his friend.
