Life on his ranch could be their future. If they can overcome their past.
Felicity’s life story reads like the script to a bad soap opera. Girl’s high-school boyfriend becomes a drug addict. Girl falls for boyfriend’s best friend. Girl leaves them both behind only to return home years later for murdered ex-boyfriend’s funeral. Now she’s back home in Montana, ready to start fresh. She’s got a long list of amends to make and relationships to rebuild, including one with the man who has owned her heart for sixteen years.
Silas doesn’t need much. He’s got a great horse, close friends and the Lucky Heart ranch, but something has always been missing. He’s not an idiot. He knows the missing piece is Felicity. And now that she’s returned to Prescott, he’s got a second chance to win her heart. This time, the only thing standing in his way is history. Drudging up the past is going to be about as painful as playing tug of war with barbed wire. But if they can heal old wounds, he’ll get the girl he should have had all along.

4.5 Stars Wow! I loved this book! Each book of this series has just gotten better, the characters richer, the romance sweeter. I was initially uncertain about Felicity. She was somewhat of a bully in high school, a rebel and was definitely not what one would consider the sweet girl next door. She’s got a lot of history in Prescott and she left it far behind sixteen years ago. Unfortunately, time has not erased those memories and her too infrequent visits have only added to her less than stellar reputation. Silas has wanted Lis even when she was completely out of his reach. He was always there for her when they were younger but they have a painful history and now the most he can hope for is friendship. At least that’s what he tells himself. Despite the fact this couple hook up early in the book, afterwards it’s somewhat of a slow burn. They are each trying to give their relationship a chance to heal as they both grow to a place that is emotionally healthy. This was a rather angst filled read as both of these characters deal with their pasts as well as the feelings that are being stirred up again so many years later. Both of them are afraid to reach out for what they want, the fear of rejection so strong. However, once they take that step there’s no slowing down or going back. This is a fast paced read that never felt bogged down by unnecessary information. The secondary characters add to the overall picture even as they add substance to this story. When I hoard a book until the perfect, no interruptions for the whole day, read…you know I’m in love with an author. Even KA had to take a back seat to this one. I’m so excited that this author has more planned for this series. Sign me up now please! Dual POV Safety – during their time apart they each have other relationships Some possible triggers – one of her friends is abused
This is book 3 in the Jamison Valley series. I feel this can easily be a stand alone read. In fact I had not read the first two books prior to reading this book and had no trouble following along. This is also the first book I have read of Devney Perry and not only do I love this book I absolutely love the way Devney writes. I was pulled right into the book from the very first page and it keep me hooked until the very last word. I love when an author have such a way of writing that it pulls you right into the book. Felicity has plans moving back home after being gone for several years to make amends from her past and strengthen her relationships with her family. I actually felt the emotional highs and lows she went through throughout this book. This girl is made of strong stuff! Every step of the way Silas was right there supporting her all the way. I think she drew strength from his unwavering support. Silas always loved her from a distance and his deepest hope is for a future for them. Seriously this man is one is a million. I want a Silas' of my own. I absolutely fell in love with Felicity and Silas. This is a wonderful heart warming read that just made me feel that this story was 'real life'.
Another great book in this series. Loved it!
Another hit! This series is one of my very favorites. Each book better than the last. The characters are so endearing, you fall in love with them from the first page. I can't wait for the next book.
