Biblical Principles, Natural Foods, and an Objective Plan for Living Beyond Organic Bestselling author Jordan Rubin uses a combination of Biblical insight and scientific findings in his latest work.  The Maker's Diet Revolution is a treasure-trove of valuable data regarding digestive diseases, stress related issues, allergies, toxic cleansing, and chronic fatigue.  Rubin relates his own battle with Crone’s disease as at age nineteen. This story also tells of his discovery of an eating plan that led to what became called the “Maker’s Diet.” As a result of the success of this life giving alternative food plan, Rubin made a commitment to “transform the health of this nation and world one life at a time.” This has become his life mission. The book is filled with health tips, food lists, sample eating plans, including tips for shopping and for dining out. More than just a diet, The Maker’s Diet Revolution will help you power your mind, supercharge your spirit, and walk in a lifetime of favor and blessings.” I was interested in reading this book to see what new and exciting research has happened since Mr. Rubin’s first book – The Maker’s Diet. I remember reading the first book and thinking that it was great that it worked for him, but the “plan” was a bit too extreme for me. Sadly, I have similar feelings with this book. The book focuses on thee principles, or pillars, of biblical health: o Eat what God created for food o Don’t alter God’s design o Don’t let any food or drink become your idol On the plus side, I was reminded that all the “junk” food that I consume is not what my body needs for optimal performance. I was also reminded to focus on what and where my food comes from and how it is processed and altered. It didn’t take that many pages before I was turned off by the message of the book as it seemed to me to be an ongoing infomercial for his LiveBeyondOrganic dot com website. Does the book give good information for anyone wanting to better their health and the lifestyle? The Maker’s Diet Revolution, the 10 Day Diet to lose weight and detoxify your body, mind and spirit by Jordan Rubin The author Jordan Rubin wrote this book and The Maker’ Diet after becoming very sick with Crohn’s disease. The book is divided into two parts. The first is CLEASING YOUR BODY and the spiritual benefits of fasting. He teaches the importance of water, raw fruit, veggies, nuts and seeds, and their health benefits. The second part is BUILDING YOUR BODY, by rebuilding and restoring your body‘s internal ecosystem. We learn the powerful health agents found in herbs and spices, how electrolytes found in minerals help our body to function properly. We are even provided with recipes, list of food good to eat and which to avoid. I really enjoyed how he backs his diet with scriptures and biblical teachings. I would recommend this book for anyone looking to change their lives, lose weight and become healthier in the mind, body and spirit. I give this book 4 stars for being both educational and spiritual. This was a really interesting book for me. I enjoyed the intro about Daniel and the Bible. I never knew this story and I found it worth repeating. I am on a diet, and I can not believe how much faith Daniel had that he gave up all of the king's food. It reminded me to stick to my diet. I also liked how the author talked about drinking a lot of water, exercising and what foods are made up of. There are charts on how to get antioxidants, omegas, Super veggies, enzymes and fibers etc. There are recipes at the end so you can keep to your plan. The author did a great job in connecting the faith I have in myself to lose weight, and the faith I have in God. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.

I knew this would be a great book; full of wonderful, nutritious information. I am a advocate of natural, raw and organic food, so I was excited to learn many new things and I will be trying the 10-day diet. I have always been impressed with Jordan Rubin's products; they have been a blessing to my health. I received a free copy of this book courtesy of The Book Club Network for my honest review.
