Most Helpful Customer Reviews
This was an interesting post-apocalypse; where the first book was about escaping and rebuilding connections, this one is about healing -- specifically, the choice to heal in a world that wants to keep fighting. There's a metaphorical theme here, but also literal, as the young heroine prioritizes helping people over the mission of revenge that is expected of her. It makes for a really striking read, especially when contrasted with the flashbacks, and the 'good intentions' that founded the empire. I'll be looking forward to more in this series.
