About the Author

I'm a life-long fan of paranormal romance and The Man of my Dreams is the first novel in a series. The sequel (Be Careful What You Wish For) is nearly complete and nearing the editing stage. My inspiration for this series lies close to my heart, for I have my own dark haired man of my dreams, Barry. I am also a big fan of the short lived TV show Moonlight and its lead, Alex O'loughlin. Watching this show gave me the push I needed to start writing

I am a stay at home mum of 4 children and write whenever I get the chance. Writing is and always has been my passion. My books are for you - my fans, who share my love of romance and everything paranormal. I hope you will continue on this journey with me.

All I can say is…UGH! I bet that has you thinking…WHAT Cassie is wondering what is going on. For most of her life she has had dreams of a knight in not-so-shiny armor. He is always there when she needs him; holding her through the pain, comforting her during her sadness, saving her when she needs help. But he is always in the shadows, never quite there. Suddenly now he is more, much more. His arms have become her home and her body craves this secret man with a passion. What do these erotic dreams mean? Her brain tells her, he is only a dream, but her body is saying something different. Is he a vision, a man or a monster? Who is he? What is he? Thinks are happening in her town and have been for a very long time. There is a killer on the loose. This killer seeks to rid the world of deprived evil; a type of evil that hurts good decent people. The killer is killing killers. Does that make them good or evil? Cassie is questioning her sanity, but she is beginning to see a pattern. Can her dream man be this vigilante killer? Is she losing her mind and her heart? WOW – what a different story! The Man of My Dreams is detailed, deep and well thought out. Ms. Quintal really dives in and you learn a lot about Cassie, but she skates around this mystery man. You know what he is and basically why. You understand the basic reasons why he does what he does, but he is written just out of our reach. Ms. Quintal teases us; “here is a little taste, nope that is all you get”. You are left on the edge of understanding and you get nothing more. It is a bit hard to explain. I was left wanting more of him and in the end, I was pleased and yet pleasantly shocked. I do have to warn you. There are disturbing scenes and subject matters involved and the ending is very abrupt. I personally did not have any issues with the story, but some may. Some of the elements are graphic, but they are written in a way that didn’t bother me, but got the point across clearly. In regards to the ending, you will want the next book right away, I know I do. I am pleased to report there are two more so far in the series. Be Careful What You Wish For is currently out and The Chosen One is out the end of June 2012. I have no idea where this series going, but I do know I want a front row seat! Great job Ms. Quintal! You have a new fan and I can say she is very pleased!

Worth Reading... Total pages: 242...Story pages: 226...Free e-book One of the craziest/weirdest books I've read in a long time...I mean this in a good way. A different take on vampires for sure, especially since this one was about a vigilante vampire. Main female character is one unlucky girl/woman, even without him to save her all the time. This story really had me going, didn't want to put it down because it was just so different.

Adult Paranormal Romance This is book one in The Dream Series. Cassie has struggled and overcome many obstacles throughout her life. Some of those, she can't even remember. Since her parents died in a car crash, she has been having dreams of a dark haired man, coming and comforting her in her time of need. As the years pass by, her dream man seems to become more real and more intimate. She begins questioning him of why he only comes to her in her dreams and why they can't be together in the real world. Over the years there have been some strange murders, and also some strange occurrences of women showing up in front of the hospital that Cassie works at. The women have been rescued while being attacked, but remembers nothing as to how they get to the hospital and who the "ghost" is that saves them. After Cassie talks with one of the victims, she seems to have this feeling that it has something to do with something from her past. She starts to research her past and whom her dream man might be. What she finds may not be what she was hoping for. There were a few time frame jumps/gaps in the beginning that I would have liked to have had a little more details and explanations, but I still understood and enjoyed the book. It has a different set up as far as the "vampire guidelines" that most paranormal books go by, which is refreshing. I felt the end just kinda came to a stop, not the normal cliff hanger stop, but still left off for more to come in the series and leaving me wanting to know what happens next. I look forward to reading more of The Dream Series. Warning: The book contains some sexual and physical abuse, murder, some attempted rape scenes. Recommend as an adult read! This book surprised me with just how good it was! I definitely recommend it! I would have given five stars if there weren't a few time issues but it was still good enough for me to buy the next two!

Not my kind of story

Look I was into it even though the begining was a little confusing. Loved the conflict of the monster lover. You build this story about hum wanting a love and her wanting a famlit. Then end the story without telling us if they get together. The ending ruined the whole thing for me.

Since the age of 17, Cassie has dreamed of a dark-haired, gorgeous man. Initially, he is her protector, but eventually he becomes her dream lover as well. She doesn't know that he's a vampire who can only appear in his human form through her subconscious state. In her waking hours, she would see him for the monster he is. Cassie, meanwhile, is confused and left wondering if he's real or imagined. This book had a really good story idea, but it is greatly in need of an editor. Someone needs to fix the incohesive writing style. It's very choppy, especially at the beginning, when time passes very quickly without warning. Also, there are a lot of disturbing elements that occur in Cassie's early life. These are written so quickly that it's more like reading SparkNotes than an actual book. The romance between Cassie and her dream lover is very strange. They profess their love to each other, but I'm not sure why they're in love. Cassie knows absolutely nothing about him, except that he's gorgeous and a good lover. The ending may have offered a chance to redeem some of the problems, but instead it only made it worse. There is an open ending, which I'm guessing is intended to make the reader want to rush out and buy the next installment. I didn't particularly care enough for Cassie or her dream man to pay for the next story. Even if you got this as a free download (as I did), the reader still deserves some sense of completion. You won't find it here.

I had mistakenly assumed this would be a regular paranormal/romance however there is a lot more to this story. There were elements of mystery, vigilante justice, psychology and unbelievably romance thrown into this mix. It definitely had me curious as to how this heroine and her love would be together in the end. An unexpected ending and refreshingly not sappy.

Cassie has had dreams of her beautiful man for almost as long as she can remember. Whenever something bad has happened to her the mysterious dream man has been there to make her feel safe and happy. But when the unspeakable happens she slowly starts to realize he has been with her for far longer than she even remembers and that he is much much more than a part of her imagination. Interesting story with a bit of a different twist on vampires. This book did touch on some darker more taboo subject matter but I feel like it did so in a way that left me with no trouble reading it. In fact I had a hard time putting the book down! The author gave just enough information to reel me in but there is still so much more I want to know. And with that doozy of a cliffhanger for an ending I would absolutely love to read the next book in the series because it has definitely peaked my curiosity. Because of it's darker nature I can say this book won't be for everybody but in my opinion The Man of my Dreams is recommended.

This book had a different spin on Vampires. It was very interesting. I liked the concept of the book but felt like it was rushed a bit. I think if there was more content it could have been better. I'm interested to read the next book and see how that one is.

First off, I would like to say that I am not usually a big fan of books that have rape and molestation in them. I will say that this book does not dwell on the subject and the scenes are brief. On to a better note, I love the concept of a hero vampire. I’m not sure how I would take to having someone enter my dreams and having it feel so real. I found that I feel for Cassie and all the struggles she goes through. The uncertainty and questioning her sanity is not an easy thing to cope with.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.  I really enjoyed this book and the concept was a little different than some of the other paranormal books that I have read. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and I can't wait to see what happens in book 2. :)

First I want to say THANK YOU Gladys for having a book that doesn't have vampires are pretty little diamonds! Getting into the book was easy within the first couple of sentences I couldn't put the book down. I had to know more and learn more about each mystery that slowly surfaced and continued. Cassandra is one of those that is just born unlucky I think. She has to survive so many bad things that happen in her life. However she has had the help of her guardian angel. Years of being together the two of them fall in love and spend every dream together. But when Cassandras long time boyfriend leaves and the things between her and her dream guardian angel become heated more truth is unveiled. Is she crazy or is there more to everything then she could possibly ever know? There is some sexual scenes but nothing extremely detailed. This book is hot and steamy without having to go into the erotic details that some books have. And if there are any dark haired guardian angels that want to come to me in my dreams... please do so. I would love to be Cassandra and have the undying love that she and her mystery angel have.

Needs to be Longer Review brought to you by OBS staff member Autumn Cassandra has had a very troubled life. She was the only survivor in an accident that steals her parents away. She dreams that a mysterious handsome stranger pulled her from the wreckage, only to deliver her to the hospital just in time to save her life. It is the same stranger that has been watching and guarding over her for her entire life. She tries to hold herself together and at the same time she puts together clues that may point to her savior as the prime suspect for some gruesome vigilante murders. Alexi has loved Cassandra from afar for years. He has protected her at every turn and yearns for a time when he can reveal himself to her and possibly win her heart. Will he sacrifice everything he is as a vampire for a life that includes a happily ever after with Cassandra? This book was a good quick read – almost novella in length. It still was a great combination of suspense, steamy sex and vampires. The only drawback was the length itself. I found myself wanting more details about the characters and their history. I will still be reading the sequel because I just have to find out what happens. I would recommend this book to readers that love a good steamy Vamp story. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon... My Thoughts: So this was a free read that I got on amazon I think. I wasn't to sure about it and read some reviews and happy dance. I'm now happy I read it because the story was different - the good different. The Review: Time passes through this book a lot. From her childhood to her adult hood. Normally this confuses me, but for once I wasn't. <--- Another good thing about the book. Now the emotional overload in this book is wow. I wasn't expecting the events that happened in the first book to occur. I was yelling at the step dad and her mom was getting glared at! Yeah I got into it. When we got the adult part of the book parts of the book seemed flat which is why it got 4.5 stars. The plot was simple amazing which made up for flat. Will I read the second one? Most likely once I can get the money. :)
