When Maurice threatens to have Lecie deported (thinking she'll come home), Lecie retaliates in true de Laurent fashion.
Nick Matthews desperately needs cash, after his fiancée leaves him deeply in debt the day before their wedding. On the verge of losing his popular restaurant, Nick decides to seek out an investor to help pay off the debt.

This story focuses on the only girl in the French de Laurent family. Lecie inherited the bulk of her late uncle's estate including a fabulous ocean front house in California. Now that she's independently wealthy in her own right, she's thrilled that she can finally stretch her wings a bit and get out from under her controlling father's influence. She takes to living in California like bird to water and is having the time of her life. She has even developed a crush on a local hunky bartender, Nick Matthews. The only bad part in the equation is that Nick is set to marry within days. When Nick learns that his so-called "love" has embezzled all his money, he calls off the wedding, but is now in serious peril of losing the one thing he treasures - his restaurant. A young woman with plenty of money and a young man who needs lots of it is the perfect set-up for THE MARRIAGE FIX. I adore Ms. Edward's writing and her latest novel does not disappoint. Nick oozes sex appeal and Lecie can't help but fall for him, but make no mistake, Nick is a good guy. I even fell for him - that's how real his character became for me. The author is masterful at creating sexual tension between these two as well as misunderstandings and longing. The secondary characters were rich and added so much to the story. You can't go wrong reading the Billionaire Games series. Each book is a treat in their own right, but put them all together and you've got swoon worthy characters. Highly Recommended.
Lecie spreads her wings... This is Lecie's story. She and her friend Deidra go to the house she inherited in California. She is finally getting a taste of freedom away from her family. While there, she has a secret crush on the owner of a local restaurant they hang out at. Sadly he is getting married within days. Unfortunately for Nick, he gets played and he finds out he is in big financial trouble. Will he look past his pain and anger to see the gift in front of him? I love when her sisters-in-law come into the picture with this idea to keep Lecie's father from deporting her. The interference from them and Nick's friend Dean are entertaining! An all around wonderful read! Loved seeing how these two come together and found this to be a really sweet book. A great addition to this series!
Reviewed by Natasha Jackson for Readers' Favorite With her brothers happily married to two beautiful American women, Lecie de Laurent decides it’s time for her to experience a bit of independence. She leaves for California with her friend Deidra, where they spend the days baking in the sun and enjoying lemon drop martinis at the beach bar, Hang Ten. But Lecie’s controlling father wants her back in France and he’ll do anything to make it happen, including having Lecie deported. In The Marriage Fix, we find Lecie in search of a temporary husband so she can beat her father at his own game, only she’ll do it with the blessing of her protective brothers. Unfortunately, Lecie is quite smitten with Hang Ten proprietor, Nick Matthews, who is engaged to someone else. This fun story from Sandra Edwards is well-written, fast paced and utterly delightful. Lecie and Deidra have been going to Hang Ten regularly for the crab cakes and definitely not for the soon to be married owner, Nick. But when Nick’s fiancée does the unthinkable, he is need of a great deal of money to keep his life from spinning out of control. The thing I really enjoyed about The Marriage Fix was that the reason Lecie and Nick needed one another was solid and not contrived. They both had the means to help the other achieve their goals, and a little dusting of attraction is just the icing on the cake, right? Sandra Edwards wrote a great story with this, giving us more time with favorites like Camille and Tasha and even Lecie’s overbearing father. The time with the girls was most enjoyable, as was watching Nick and Lecie come to terms with their growing feelings. The Marriage Fix is a quick read, but it is definitely a full story guaranteed to satisfy.
I found this quick and easy read delightful. It’s well-written, well-developed, and has a nice tight story line for a short book. It’s full of good causes and upstanding characters with believable dilemmas that pulled me in and held my interest. I kept me rooting for the couple and hoping they would take a chance. I love to read about marriages of convenience and this book did not disappoint. It’s a good clean romance, and I can sincerely say it’s the sweetest love story I’ve read in a long time. It’s full of sentiments and goodwill wrapped up with a nice, light, satisfying ending. If you’re looking for a heart-warming romance, I recommend this book!
Book three in the Billionaire Games series is wrapping up the De Laurent family children's marriages. Each book is about one of the children and their problems with the father, Maurice, trying to control their lives. In the first two books, Maurice does his best to force his sons into marriages in order to control them, but in doing so he inadvertently gave his daughter Lecie more freedom than she had ever had. She gained financial independence through her second brother's marriage as well as a house in California, so very far from the French estate the family lived on. Lecie jumped at the chance to go to the states to experience true freedom and adventure, but once she gets there, her father realizes that he has no control over anything she does there. He believes that she still needs to be protected from the world, but Lecie is having too much fun to let him do that. She also has discovered a blooming longing for a certain Nick Matthews who owns a small restaurant only a mile from the home she inherited. Nick is about to get married, leaving Lecie wondering how she will occupy her days once he is no longer available. That is...Until it turns out he is still available. Now Lecie has to find a way to prevent her father from having her deported as well as find a way to keep Nick in her life. This is a very fast read. Once you have read one of the books in the series, you get a general idea of where the other two are going to go, but the story of how two strangers end up falling in love is well worth reading. The plots are very fast paced, but unlike some books, you won't feel like they end up together without a good reason. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and find myself wondering if the series will extend past the De Laurent children. Read more reviews at Identity Discovery Blog.
