The Mask of Destiny (Archer Legacy Series #3) by Richard Newsome

The life of Australian teen Gerald Wilkins changed forever when he inherited twenty billion pounds and a mystery to solve. In The Mask of Destiny, Gerald believes his enemy Sir Mason Green will be put in prison for murder. Instead, Gerald is accused of murder himself. He’ll have to find the last of three emerald caskets to clear his name. The search takes him, Ruby, Sam, and Mr. Fry to Paris, Rome, Athens, and Delphi. They discover Delphi once held the greatest treasure on earth. It could still be there, waiting to be found by someone good. Or evil…

I have read all three books in the series and I have to say I loved the first book, hated the second one, loved the third one. This book teaches history and keeps it light and fun. I think that you have to read the other books or you will be kinda lost and behind. In my opinion I think the book had some really slow parts like seriously did we need a whole chapter on a chase scene, but hey maybe other people like that kind of stuff. I think that at least 100 pages could have been cut out and the book would have been just as good, this is not really a reflection on the author as so much on his editor not doing their job. I also found alot of typos as well. Still in the last few chapters I found my self at a place that I stayed up till 3:30 to finish the book because the last 75 pages were that good. I'm glad I didn't give up on the Gerald, Ruby & Sam after that second book or I would have missed a great third book. Try the whole series Maybe you will like the second book maybe I'm just crazy and the second book is as good as the rest. Take a chance and give it a go! I don't think you will be disappointed!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.Great ending ties books 1 and 2 together with this finale book. Must read all 3 books The Billionare's Curse, The Emerald Casket and The Mask of Destiny. All 3 books great. I gave them to my 9 year old grandson to read after i had read them. I told him he would enjoy it. Fast pace and keeps you intrigued to the end. Nothing boring about these books.

This is Book # 3, the final portion of the Archer Legacy series. It provides a very satisfying ending for the trilogy. This a series targeting the youth audience, and I believe the author does a superb job of providing a story that will appeal to that group. They will be pleased with the unsupervised global traveling, and independent living experienced by the three young protagonists. They also experience a great deal of adventuring, clue gathering and intellectual solving thereof, danger, and companionship. Throw in a little murder and a little humor and there it is! A book that appeals to the youth audience.
