Strong-willed, curvy Ella Princeton doesn't have time for dating or dreams of fantasy. Practical to the core, she's working three jobs to support her family. But everything changes when Ella meets a handsome naked man while searching for a lost cat. Exuding male strength and pure sex, he makes her heart race and her hormones fire. She wants to crawl all over him and lick him from head to toe. Too bad he's crazy and talks as if he's a shapeshifter from another world where the sharp snows of winter hold power and magick.
Kieran of the Winter Kingdom may be a tomcat when it comes to sex, but he is equally smitten with Ella, his new assignment. He must convince fiery, lovely Ella that she is a werewolf, and coax her into joining him on a quest to find a rare crystal. The hidden gem will turn her into a powerful warrior to fight the gathering darkness in the world. Only Ella can help stop a growing threat to Xavier, the Crystal Wizard, and save him and perhaps the entire human race...

Ella has no idea of her true nature. She has been told her whole life that magic does not exist. Wrong! Kieran is assigned to find Ella and help her find a crystal that will bring her into her full power. He hates being around skins and can't wait to get back to the Winter Kingdom. Ella is irresistible and he isn't sure he will be able to leave her when the time comes. But, how can he live in the skin world after what happened to his sister?
Not sure how I’d react to running into a nekkid man while walking through the woods near my home…and THEN he says he’s from another “place”! Ella Princeton is living a very hard, very ordinary life when Kieran of the Winter Kingdom appears. He was sent by Danu to find her and help her to know her true self. Trouble is brewing and Ella is the first key to keeping not only the Crystal Wizard safe, but all of humanity as well. No pressure! Ms. Vanak weaves another great tale (and tail!) in this series and I cannot begin to recap the story. Kieran is a feline shapeshifter, you’ll have to read about Ella, and the assorted characters in this story. And the “dark” characters??? Ugh! Well-written, creep you out, icky, evil…things. What fun! I’ve read the rest of the series, although this is a standalone, and it was fun reading about other “main” characters – with the Wizards popping in for a bit of help and fun. Great paranormal read!
