The Mental by Ms. Melanie A. Dellinger

When a strange man called Ryan takes Bella Stellar away from her home, a city crumbling to ashes, he says it's to hide her from the compelling Aidan Styles and his wishes to start The Mental: a genetically engineered plague to make all people the same. Bella is a chosen Final; a person that can help start it.
But anything that starts can stop.
So on her dangerous journey of going to nerve-wracking graveyard parties, making murderous friends in camps to hide from Tractions, and fighting her way through her now post-apocalyptic home, Bella will have to take the most dangerous task of all: facing herself.
Everyone's a little mental.

About the Author

I started writing in second grade, after a Unit Test and seeing one of my best friends at the time scribbling words down on paper. Ever since then, writing has been a fantastic (sometimes crazy) storm of words and false realities that seem so real I sometimes find myself thinking about them in the most random places. I also enjoy painting, drawing, acting, and music...anything that tells a fruitful story.
I am in the eighth grade attending Hawfields Middle School, one of the greatest places to spark creativity. Education, aside from writing, Jesus Christ, and my family, is one of my greatest values. I think it is so important to learn new things from new cultures every day so we can use those virtues to angle them for others.
One of my greatest goals in life is to inspire others. I want to give people hope, happiness, and faith through all that they do, and I am so blessed and thankful that the Lord has given me this gift of writing so that I can use it through Him.
Family, food on my table, a roof above my head, a good book, a pencil, paper, and a little magic which can be found through the brightest smile is all I would need to live...Because you can go anywhere with a good book.
