The Microchipz Adventures by Robert Taylor, Michelle Klein
Look out into the night, up at the stars, What do you see? More to the point, what don't you see? What might be there in that vast expanse of space? Ships flying from planet to planet? Inhabited worlds that are so many millions of miles away that we'll never reach them or know their inhabitants? It's fun to think about, to populate the vastness of space with characters, societies, locations and technologies that may actually be there, just beyond our reach. What if they came here, to Earth? What if they came here and no one noticed them because their technology is so far superior to ours that they could pass undetected through radar, satellites, telescopes, through all the military's advanced detection systems? And when they did come to observe Earth what if they took samples of the population to get a closer look? Who would they take? Tom Cruise? I enjoy thinking about questions like these, and that's why I wrote the Microchipz Adventures to explore the idea of an alien race and how three teenagers would handle being suddenly snatched from the Earth and ending up on a spaceship, far away from home.
A native of Philadelphia, PA, Michelle Klein brings the flavor of its ethnic neighborhoods and tree-lined streets to her fanciful tales. Her written work includes The Secret of Gardons, swashbuckling serial fiction and His Mother's Son, a pirate fantasy story published in the anthology Black Sails. Her young adult novel, The Microchipz Adventures, is forthcoming from DigiEpic. She currently resides in the treacherous swamps of Delaware, guarded day and night by her four year old son, "Le Petit Pirate".
