I loved this book. It kept me hooked throughout the whole story. I would read it every little chance I could. As the story progressed, I would keep repeating in my head, "Uh oh, this is not going to be good for Luke. He is really messing up." I adored Grace. She had been used in every relationship she had been in. But this did not change her. She still had a huge heart and a desire to help those who were less fortunate. I hated the deception from Luke, although his beliefs and his outlook on life changed. He dug himself in a deep hole and killed his brain trying to get out. I loved the ending and the epilogue. Perfect ending for Luke and Grace's story. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

This is a fast and sexy read that pulls you in with the nicely-woven storyline and the author’s wonderful writing. While Luke and Grace had chemistry and passion, I just couldn’t get past how quickly things escalated between them considering how the book started out, i.e. Grace putting her foot down with her girlfriends at the bar and putting a series of tests in place in order for her to not be taken advantage of or used again. A little bit more hard to get on her end would have been the right ticket. An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary

First impressions are everything and with Luke and Grace, Ms. Byrne left a lasting one. With equal parts frustration and sensation, this couple made hot and cold work. What I liked most about The Millionaire's Revenge is that the characters kept me on my toes and as a reader that is a great compliment because bored would have been a draw back. The fact that the author allowed me as a reader to come to my own conclusion in this chess game of love proved a plus as well. This is my second read by Wendy Byrne and I am liking what I've seen so far.

When Luke decides to romance his competitor's daughter, he got more than he expected. Grace is on a mission to change her ways and Luke just might put a damper on her plans. Their chemistry is amazing, and I loved this story. I highly recommend it!

Grace's dad is the real estate mongrul, Cyrus, who stops at nothing to get his way. Luke is more than upset that Cyrus outbidded him on a piece of property. Wanting to get back at Cyrus, Luke goes after his daughter, Grace, only to learn that she's nothing like her father. Without meaning to, Luke finds himself falling for her and his starting to question his decision. Grace is tired of men who use her to get to her father or who are fake. When she meets Luke, she feels like there's something false about him but can't put her finger on it. the longer she gets to know him, the more she thinks he may be the perfect man for her. Wendy Byrne is a good addition to the Entangled Publishing authors! My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

Grace Wilson has had it with men using her for either her money, status, social climbing or anything else. Out with her two friends one evening she devises a plan and a "test" for prospective men to pass before she allows them in close, then she'll use them and dump them. She's just fed up. They girls are having a good time when a man catches her eye and approaches. Luke McCall is a real estate developer who has done very well for himself but now finds himself faced with being undermined on every deal by one Cyrus Whitaker, Grace's father. Her father is a greedy, manipulative man and treats her like chattel. Luke thinks Grace is a partner to whatever Cyrus is doing, convinced it isn't legal and so by getting to know Grace is sure he can wiggle some damning information out of her. They spend that evening together and see each other again. Luke tries to look for information and yet there is nothing. He then also feels that Grace isn't involved, but isn't sure. So while he's busy playing Grace's games to prove himself (her test she made up), relaying information to his lawyer and trying to keep himself level in all this, he knows he's sliding down a slippery slope with her, he just can't stop. Despite the fact they've gotten naked at least three times and have yet to consummate the act because he has to leave because of an emergency, or he just drops her at the door or simply walks away. You know were I Grace here in that situation, I would definitely have had some issues. Big ones. She already has some issues, she calls her friends to tell them what happened and yet she never says anything to Luke. A little of that spark would have added to the story. Time goes on and Grace gets two copies of this new project, one that she knows of and another that doesn't add up and is in total conflict with her wishes on the project. She asks Luke to help her look at the financials because she thinks he's an accountant. He agrees and thinks this is his big break, although while she was passed out cold from a night of drinking at a wedding they went to, he goes into her laptop and reads them and sends them to his lawyer. This is the damning evidence he needs to stop her father. This is also his betrayal of Grace. They end up getting snowed in and it isn't until they get back into the city that a couple things come to light, Grace's name is also on the project, courtesy of her father and they do sit and review the papers. Luke explains to her what he sees. She of course does believe him and is angry with her father and the mess. Another man who has used her. Making Luke feel about as big as he should feel at this point. The whole thing comes to a head the next day and the crap hits the fan. Grace is crushed and Luke feels like something you'd scrape off the bottom of your shoe. Rightly so. This was a good story. The plot was solid, I liked Luke and Grace both although they lacked a little depth in this story. There were some obvious loose ends during the story I would have liked to seen addressed and it needed a touch more steam. The times they were together seemed to calculated, maybe contrived. Could have been written better. I also thought Grace was a little too forgiving at times, but loved the way she booted her father in the a** out the front door. However that said, the plot which is one of a man who is seeking revenge and claiming back what he feels was taken from him dishonestly was top notch. He set his sights on finding answers and he got them.

With lies and deceit from the start, can love find a way? The hero in this story is a self-made millionaire, Luke McCall, who has pulled himself up from a poor childhood to becoming a real estate tycoon. When he suspects someone is using nefarious schemes to stop him winning contracts he decides to try to woo the man's daughter, Grace Wilson, to lie to her and romance her with the sole aim of discovering a way to put her father out of business. Grace is fed up of men trying to use her and is looking for someone who loves her as she is, not for her social position, money or the connection to her father. She decides on some tests to use to filter out such potential boyfriends. However, after meeting Luke she's not so sure as he passes every test with flying colours - can she trust him? the-millionaires-revenge-teaser-2 I really didn't like manipulative, lying Luke . . . his childhood is no excuse for his attitude or behaviour or how he plans to use Grace! Grace may be very rich but she is much too naive at times, especially concerning both her father and Luke. However, there are some very funny episodes where the two are so near to consummating their relationship but Luke keeps having some reason to abandon her, even when they're both naked! He's actually trying to resist his attraction to her as even he sees that as overstepping moral boundaries considering why he's with her in the first place. That's actually what gives him a glimmer of potential IMHO, but what will happen when she discovers his true intent? Will he succeed in putting her father out of business? If so, how will Grace react? As their mutual attraction grows, will Luke actually be able to continue towards his original goals or will love step in to thwart him? Many thanks to the publishers for gifting me, without obligations, an ARC of this novel via NetGalley.

luke mccall is determined to take down his business rival, a man who has bribed or stolen his way into the real estate deals luke had been looking to develop. his rival's daughter, grace wilson, is sick of being wooed by guys out to get something from her dad. when she and luke meet he pretends he doesn't know who she is. and she at times charmed and wary of his too good to be true behavior. she had come up with a test to weed out the loser guys looking for something from her dad, but luke passes every test. the key is that luke doesn't want anything from her dad except a confession of wrong-doing. and as his plan involves him more in grace's life, and as he gets to know her, he realizes that she is not her father's daughter. she is bright and funny and giving. and something about grace encourages him to let down the walls he had built around his heart after a terrible childhood and start to feel things again. his plan backfires spectacularly when they authorities realize that they have enough reason to charge grace's father with criminal behavior. and she realizes that he had ulterior motives in seeking her out. eventually they figure things out and both grace and luke make some compromises to continue a relationship. the millionaire's revenge is a solid category romance. i wish the titles of these books were a bit better than referring to a character by their financial status. but i suppose that's a thing and it didn't stop me from reading the book. i'm just always slightly embarrassed by titles like these. my issue, i suppose. **the millionaire's revenge will publish on december 12, 2016. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (indulgence) in exchange for my honest review.

This was not my first read by Wendy Byrne and every time I read a work of hers I am reminded why I love her stories so much. They are just so down to earth and heart warming. I love when I can relate to a story and the characters so well! Grace was tired of men using her in one way or another to get to her wealthy father. Her father was not a very nice man though and Grace did not realize what all he was up to until someone opened her eyes to it all. Grace had decided to set up a plan to "test" guys and then dump then before they can use her for any reason. Grace is out with her friends one night when she meets Luke. Grace is all set to test out her new theory on him, but has this strange feeling that Luke is something more than just a test. Will she be able to walk away from Luke when it is time? Luke is a real estate broker but is always undercut or undermined by Grace's father, Carl. Now Luke is out to get back at Carl through Grace. Will Grace be able to see through his plan and bust him before he carries it out? The sparks immediately fly between Grace and Luke. Luke is holding himself back and scared to get too close to Grace because of what his plan is, but the attraction is so strong. When Grace and Luke get to the point of doing other things, Luke always finds a way to get out and away from Grace. As things progress with Luke and Grace, Luke begins to feel bad about what he is doing to Grace and realizes that she has no idea what her father is doing nor is she involved with his schemes. I love the way that Luke deals with the situation when Grace finds out about everything. It was so mature of him. I think that Wendy Byrne does a great job with this one and I really enjoyed reading this story. I can't wait for what is next from her!

Luke McCall has decided to pursue Grace Wilson with only one thing driving him - Revenge. He's had it with someone undercutting every deal he has going. Especially the latest one and he is certain Grace's father is at the root of the problem. Too bad Grace has decided she's had it with men using her for her money or her father's approval. Test. Screw. Dump. That's her new mantra when it comes to men. Luke McCall however makes it difficult to stick to that plan. This was a very enjoyable story. I loved the back and forth between Luke and Grace as they each try to protect their heart while getting what they want. Definitely a book I recommend.

LOVED!!! This is an engaging and entertaining novel that has Luke, a real estate developer, seeking out the daughter of his adversary, Grace, in an attempt to figure out how he's losing deals to Cyrus (Grace's dad). He was prepared to be charming in an attempt to learn her secrets, but he wasn't prepared to fall for her. What follows is a thoroughly entertaining tale that had me turning pages just as quickly as possible. I've had this author on my must read authors' list and this book demonstrates why. If you enjoy romance with a bit more substance, you will love her books. While this is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel.
