Reviewed by Michelle Stanley for Readers' Favorite The Missing Boston Terriers of Smith Street (A Springer Spaniel Mystery) is written by Nancy T. Lucas. Scout, a Springer Spaniel, enjoys living at home with his dad and mumma. He likes having dog parties and playing with a few neighbourhood dogs, except for those awful brutes that live around the corner. When Scout’s Boston terrier friends, Ike and Clyde, go missing, he wonders if they are abducted by dog fighters. Scout sneaks out of the house to search for them, although he has never ventured far without dad and mumma by his side. Along his journey, Scout meets Reggie the Grumpy who gives him a clue to the dogs’ location. Looking for missing dogs is not as easy as it appears, and Scout is not familiar with a few places where he finds himself, or that hungry looking boa constrictor. Will he ever see his friends again? Dog lovers will find The Missing Boston Terriers of Smith Street a lovely little book. It’s from the Springer Spaniel Mystery series written by Nancy T. Lucas, who is also the illustrator. The illustrations are nicely sketched and the author’s love for dogs, Springer Spaniels in particular, is clearly visible in her writing. The animal characters have spunky personalities and come from different backgrounds, making the story quite witty. I think Scout is adorable and very brave, considering the sheltered life he has been living. A Ghostly Tail from the Springer Spaniel series promises to be another fun adventure from the author.
