The Missing Frog Boys by Page
Spring was in the air. Five boys, aged 9 to 13 years, from a small village strolled out to a neighborhood mountain to catch frogs. They never came back.
Various theories both plausible and ridiculous abounded– The boys ran away, they were kidnapped, they were murdered, they fell in the lake and drown, they were abducted by aliens were– These were just some of the theories that people came up with.
Throughout the search, police were troubled by false reports that the boys had been seen. One man even tried to pass himself off as their kidnapper. “I have kidnapped the boys for an exchange of ransom, and they’re dying of malnutrition,” went one of the phone calls to police. During the search, the police received over 550 false leads.
