The Missing is defintely worth checking out. It has the emotive searching feel that we've come to know and love about Horner, but I do wish somehow that he had unleashed his full talent for this CD. The music on all the of tracks is lovely, some are deeper, darker and more ominous, while others are more ethereal and hopeful. Adding the native flutes and drums, added another facet that fit wonderfully into the soundtrack. The music lacks the fanfare and bravado that you may find in CD's say "Revenge of the Fallen," or "The Incredible Hulk," but this is a great addition to any collection, to give a balance between adreniline driving versus emotional, but meditative. The only thing is, right when the music wanted to obviously crescendo, it would seem to start, and then fall again. I don't know if the pace of the movie dictated it, or what. I never saw the film. But I strongly recommend trying this CD, it has that classic Horner sound, but enough variety within to keep everybody interested.
