He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

This fun, sexy romance is the story of Logan and Grace. When Logan meets pretty freshman Grace, he's not averse to a bit of hooking up as that's his usual style. But when Grace fancies that things might turn a bit more serious, he thinks that he's been using her as a distraction for an unwanted complication in his life, not someone he's interested in pursuing further. Grace dumps him, rightly so and they go off their separate ways for the summer. But Logan realizes he made a mistake, that he was on the brink of something that could have been meaningful and long lasting. Back at school again, will be be able to convince her to change her mind and give him a second chance? This was a delightful and sexy college romance. But more than that, it's the story of two people who meet, make mistakes, have a summer apart and when they come together again, have grown enough to know what they want. I really enjoyed Grace's character in the story and how she matures from a fairly shy, pushover type of girl as a freshman to a smarter, more confident and secure woman by her second year of college. Logan has played a part in this transformation for the better as she realizes that if she wants to be an equal partner in a relationship, she's going to have to learn to stand up for herself. This benefits her in all areas - with her friends, with her schooling and with Logan, who has realized his folly and is determined to show Grace that he's not the man he was before. He has matured too, into a man who knows the burden of responsibility and his place in the world, even if it's not what he really wants for his future. He's had a rough past and he can only see difficulties before him - except for Grace who lit his world with her smile and her friendship and is someone he desperately wants back in his life. The sexual attraction between Grace and Logan hasn't dimmed at all during their separation and the love scenes between them are steamy and well written. While there are serious and emotional plotlines afoot, there are so many laugh out loud moments that you just want to keep reading the story, to see if Logan can win Grace back. Logan and his roommates are hilarious together, witty banter abounds and the camaraderie between them shows their true friendship. Yet Logan also learns that sharing his burdens is the way to ease them, if he'll just let his friends and Grace in. This was a great follow-up to the first story in the Off-Campus series and I can't wait to read what comes next! 4.5 stars.

If you've read The Deal (and if you haven't shame on you), you'll LOVE The Mistake. Logan does whatever it takes to win Grace's heart. We are welcomed back with hot hockey guy camaraderie...strong, sassy gals, and laugh out loud humor. The Mistake is a MUST READ in the Off-Campus series and wouldn't be the same without poetic hockey references, a red velvet chaise lounge, and a ringing professional endorsement. Don't forget the HOT HOCKEY GUYS, I did mention that right!??

This gave me all kinds of warm fuzzies! Awesome story! Loved this! Really great writing and build with wonderful characters. Loved Logan and Grace. Really good details, I loved learning about their pasts, how they met and them coming together. There was a nice amount of angst, some drama, light hearted fun, and a whole heck of a lot of chemistry and hotness. I felt so much for John Logan while reading. He had my emotions all over the place. So sweet, trying to do the right thing on so many counts. I loved him going from a player to being committed. It was entertaining and he had me chuckling. There were so many emotional moments too and some of it was heartbreaking but it was so worth it in the end. He is awesome! I thought Grace was wonderful too. She was so awkward in the beginning to me, it was nice to see her come out of her shell and become a better version of herself. I really enjoyed getting more of all the guys, which was great. I'm super interested in Dean’s story because that boy seems like a player so it's going to take someone extra special to tame him. Loved seeing Garrett and Hannah, they're perfect together. I feel like all their personalities add a lot to the story. I didn't really care of Grace's friend at all, I felt sorry for her. There was a decent side story happening there but it didn't really go anywhere. I thought the ending was really good and liked how everything worked out with Logan's dad though it did wrap up a little too nicely. Loved the epilogue, so sweet! That made me really happy. Definitely an awesome read full of heart and steaminess. Complimentary copy received for honest review.

I don't usually take time to write reviews but this book deserves it. After reading the 1st one I was hooked on Elle Kennedy's writing and couldn't wait to read the next book in the series. I am now only halfway through this book and I had to stop in the middle to come write this review b/c I am IN LOVE with this series and this author has become one of my favorites. I can't wait to read more of her books and I am so sad it took me this long to read one. Kennedy's writing is some of the best I have ever read. I blush, I laugh and I just feel. She gets me hooked on the characters. Not just the main ones, but the supporting characters are just as ingrained in my head as both couples from the series so far. I can not wait for the next one :)

This was a great read. I loved that the characters from the first book in the series were still present in this book. I really enjoyed Grace and Logan's story. I like how it was a realistic story. Grace's friendship with her childhood friend was a great addition. As we grow we find that friendships evolve or change. Grace had to find herself and what was important to her before she was ready to give her love to Logan and Logan had to prove he was worthy and could make up for past mistakes. I give it 5 stars.

Did not feel there was any chemistry between Logan and Grace. Did not like Grace at all. Drama queen. She should thank Logan not disappear, traumatized for months, and refuse to even respond to text, etc. Ridiculous. And then to make him "earn" her trust again she makes him do a list of things. Who would want someone like that. Don't think i will read any more in this series.

Upon finishing, my initial reaction: This series is so captivating, I swear it's impossible NOT to finish it in one night! Oh the romance and the emotion. Love love love. <3 My Thoughts (full review): After completely falling in love with the story of Hannah and Garrett in the first Off-Campus novel, The Deal, I was way beyond excited to get my hands on The Mistake. I needed to see what was in store for John Logan after meeting him in the first book. Based on the absolute awesome that Elle Kennedy's first novel in the series was, I knew I'd be in for another treat. I wasn't wrong. In the first book, it's made clear that Logan has feelings for Hannah. When she and Garrett get together, it's devastating to him, so he tries to ignore them. One day he is trying to meet with friends and accidentally meets Grace. After the two of them share a spontaneous kiss, it's clear that there's something between them. He can't get her out of his head, so he keeps going back to her, and she loves having him in her life. Until one day, he (you guessed it) makes a mistake and ruins everything he has with Grace. That's when he realizes what she means to him--what she really means to him--and now he's going to stop at nothing to win her back and make things right again. Grace isn't too keen on letting Logan back into her life after what he did, but she's willing to let him try. There's no mistaking that The Mistake is a lovely story. You can't resist Logan and his charms, or Grace and her confidence. And the moments Logan and Grace share warm your heart. It was great that we got to see everyone else again, and also got insight into Logan and his family life. All in all, it was the perfect second book in the series and Elle Kennedy will never cease to amaze and amuse me with her stories. My Rating: Exceptional

4.5 Stars! Funny, sweet, and the only that was able to pull me out of my book slump! Another wonderfully well-rounded book from Elle Kennedy! This book is my savior! I’ve been in the mightiest of all book slumps! Book Slump for the ages, I’m telling you. Absolutely terrible! So bad that I got caught up on all the Real Housewives because I wanted to do anything other than read. (Sick, right?) The Mistake was a breath of fresh air with it’s humor and heart and just being all around well-written. It’s light and fluffy and just the perfect chicken soup for my reader soul right now. I’ve come to discover I have a bit of a weakness of hockey players, which completely baffles me because I really couldn’t care less about sports. But if I was going to care, it’d be about hockey. And these boys just do it for me. Logan is an unapologetic player, on and off the ice. He’s living it up and using his college-athlete-popularity to its full advantage. There is no shame in his game. Until Grace. Grace is a virgin. I know. The virgin thing’s been done. But not like Elle Kennedy does it. It’s cliché without being trite. Grace is sweet, smart, funny, and hilariously awkward when she’s nervous. Logan meets her by complete coincidence and is oddly charmed despite her oddly timed tangent about Ted Bundy. This book was so much fun to read! Elle is one of the few authors whose writing makes me actually laugh out loud. I’m normally more of a smirk kind of girl. I can be a little hard to please in the humor department. She nails it and so naturally. I can’t recommend this series enough and I absolutely cannot wait for the third book!
