Once you read The Art Of Trapeze and this book your thinking will be forever changed. It's refreshing to know that my soul has a wealth of knowledge and experiences to share if I'm intuitive enough to listen. As a perimenopaual woman, Chapter 9 especially rings true. Many, many women going through the end of their reproductive "lives" deal with alot of disruptions in their energy. Every thing McCord said in this Chapter alone applies to me in some way or another. 5 years ago, I ended an 8 year relationship, which I now know was a "Soul Contract," probaby divinely designed to help me develop deeper levels of comittment and trust, though at the time I didn't know this and felt betrayed, hurt, and insecure. I've never been a huge social butterfly but I found myself feeling uncomfortable around other people, especially women. During this transirion, many women find themselves clearing themselves of situations, people, and relationships that they are no longer willing to accept or tolerate. I used to see my aloneness as being a flaw in my charecter, my ego-mind constantly tries to convince me to figure out how to fit in with the status quo. However, I realize now I need to tell my ego-mind to shut up! Women my age can get so overwhelmed by the messages in their heads and the negative self talk, it drives them nuts! This was me. Now, instead of seeing my alone-ness as a deficit, I see it as a precious gift my soul has deemed me deserving and ready to receive. In every moment of this time there are lessons and discoveries to be made. When I need support, my soul guides me to people, mostly other women to whom there is the potential to enter into soul agreements and soul contracts, based on the areas I need to grow in, the lessons I need to learn, and the opprotunities I need to embrace, not just in my present life, but in all the other journies my soul has been blessed to be on through past life experiences and karmic experiences. My soul KNOWS now where it needs to be, where I need to be, and guides me accordingly. It also knows when one cycle or phase is done and when the next one is to begin without my even having to ponder or stress over it, the way I used to, obsessively, to the point of insanity. Yes, I know this sounds crazy, but my soul told me that the reason I'm alone now has nothing to do with me and everything to do with my menopausal brain and body not being able to handle excessive amounts of noise, confusion, chaos, and drama-externally and internally. My alone-ness now, allows me to quiet my mind and listen more clearly to what my soul truly wants me to do and how it wants me to enrich my being. The beauty is that when it feels I have gone as far as I can go, it will lead me to the next part of the journey, and hopefully through this solitary time, I will have the wistom and insights that perhaps will lead me to more complex relationships, soul agreements, soul contracts, and karmic experiences, which will carry me to experiences and rewards that I have not yet had or never thought I was capable or deserving of having: Perhaps a new midlife career, travel, the ability to give to others, educational or creative experiences, or a soulmate (When my soul feels I'm ready to take that step! Work to be done yet.). The possabilities are endless! For the first time in my life, I feel I am a part of something bigger than me, my journey is unique, people may share experiences, but my journey is mine alone!
