About the Author

Joseph G. Caplan started as a Barrister at Law practicing in London, England. Due to his father’s illness, he had to leave law practice, and became a rag merchant in a poor district of London. After his father returned to the rag factory, Joseph became a money lender. Ambition led him further, and he became the CEO of a bank on the stock market with 22 branches, resulting in much wealth and success until the economic crash in the seventies when he lost everything. In 1977, Joseph came to the USA, where he graduated from Seminary with degrees in Theology. He became a pastor and Bible teacher in Los Angeles before losing his first wife Valerie, the love of his youth, to cancer in 1993 after over thirty years of marriage. Joseph currently lives in Portsmouth, VA with his wife, Elaine.

What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

"In The Money Man Joseph Caplan tells a compelling tale of rags to riches and then back again, a seemingly tragic journey but one redeemed by grace and an improbable second chance. The Money Man is hard to put down and harder still to describe as the circumstances of Joseph Caplan's life from the son of a common merchant to financial power-broker to exile are so far beyond any ordinary imagination. This book provides a memorable testimony of one man's labyrinthine path to faith." - Dr. Peter Fraser, Director, School of Communication and the Arts Senior Associate Dean at Regent University; author of Images of the Passion: the Sacramental Mode in Film.

“I have seen Joseph almost weekly for a couple of years in a businessmen's bible study and was surprised that this gentleman of grace and charm had such an interesting and compelling life story. I am fascinated by God's redemptive work in Josephs life as he came from a Jewish rag merchant family in Great Britain, succeeded amazingly in business as a banker, then to have his life turn into shambles, and finally to find the Messiah Jesus. His is truly an amazing life story you will not want to miss.” Thomas Noon, President C-Level Services and Catalyst Cohorts
