Mallory, a young college professor, is haunted by vivid dreams filled with struggle and sadness. After enlisting the help of a man who is conducting a new study, Mallory begins to uncover the meanings behind her dreams, spiraling into a world of anger, mistrust, and denial.

"The Monitor" explores those voices hiding in the innermost corners of our minds, how we try to ignore them, and what we are forced to do about them when we can no longer pretend they don't exist.
